Cultivate Cafe at Colonial Gardens

I was here a year ago and the experience was much nicer. Today, the food was very limited and very average and the $5 Latte was only 12 oz.

An intimate, open, cozy counter-service brunch spot nestled at the back of the nursery. The absolute best hash I've ever had -- wonderful texture and components, depth of flavor, and seasoning. The coffee menu is inviting and simple. This place is a hidden gem.

Kid-friendliness: Extremely sweet and family friendly. High chairs, child friendly portions of sides.

This place is wonderful. Not only is the food amazing, but the service too. It's so evident they take great care in what they do.

Every time I’ve eaten here it has exceeded my anticipation. It’s as good as a five star restaurant! It’s THE BEST farm to table cafe in KC. And the ambience is gorgeous. You are surrounded by pine trees, a little waterfall, a hundred different plants and flowers, it’s WILD. It is one of one in KC. ??? oh, and THE BEST REUBEN WITH KIMCHI IVE EVER HAD!!

Wow. This is a hidden gem that I'm so glad we found! You order at the counter, but they still provided service, answered questions about the menu in a friendly and knowledgeable way. The atmosphere is very chill and beautiful. The food was amazing. Tasted very fresh with a really refreshing mix of local and fresh ingredients like fresh berries, variety of tomatoes, and soft fresh bread. We will go back!

It was a medium sized cafe, just cozy enough for 2 people to have a great breakfast or brunch! Being located inside of a garden area does not hurt either!! The food was great and good portions for the price! The taste was first class! It reminds me of a smaller First Watch! The garden area was awesome!!! They had a little bar area inside the garden area to have some tastings!! We will definitely go back for the festivals and the garden concerts they have there! They serve wine and beer at those! The festivals they have are very family friendly! I kind of don't want to post this to keep people from crowding such a wonderful place, but I also think it is a hidden gem if you have never been!!

This place is such a hidden gem! I loved it before their relaunch, and it's still just as great! Stopped in for brunch with a friend and had a great meal. You can taste how fresh the ingredients are and how much thought goes into each dish. The coffee and bakery items looked great as well. This will definitely be a regular spot for me!

Cobb salad was fresh and delicious. Had previously tried the flatbreads, those are amazing too! Great place!

Very, very disappointed! Our company River Watch Beef has been a vendor in their local market since Colonial Gardens opened several years ago. BE ADVISED, they do not pay vendors on time, or even close. We've had to wait MONTHS to get paid on our beef deliveries. It's been excuse after excuse. They have high staff turnover and the upper management doesn't seem to care. What a disappointing company that claims to support local businesses, but seems to take advantage of us.

A perfect spot for lunch. Such a hidden gem. Loved the food and really loved the compostable materials the food is served on! Really enjoyed the patio as well. Very charming. This was our first time but we’ll be back again soon!

love the selection at this place...enough to make the hour and 45 minute drive from holton ks...trav the tree guy is awesome...patient, answers questions, very helpful. my only gripe about this place is I wish there was an option to see what inventory of trees and shrubs you guys have. I know it's always changing and there's no way to list everything, but mention that, so if someone is looking for something specific they know to call if its not listed. for example, I don't know what trees you guys offer, if your having sales, prices, etc. I was just up there to grab a southwestern white pine that I would of had to order online to get for much more then what colonial gardens charged (thank God I somehow found out colonial gardens had them...saved me money and I got a bigger tree) anyway, while I was there buying the pine tree, I saw a bunch of trees you had, some of which where on sale...moral to the story, I just bought a bunch of trees that were half the size for double the price. if I would of known that, I would of brought the trailer and bought the trees from you. I guess from now on I will just email everytime I'm wanting to purchase a tree, it would just be easier on your staff to not have to constantly answer emails about your inventory, and it would help people like me who are willing to make the drive for a bigger tree for half the price. anyway, that's my only gripe about the place, again, great selection of trees and shrubs...so much so...it's definitely worth the drive to see if they have what your looking for!

Unexpected and 1000% above par! Menu is a bit tedious, which I got a bit of laugh out of, but once zeroed in I found an absolutely perfect combination for brunch. Quality of the food is farm fresh as advertised and cooked to perfection. Absolutely going to be a new staple in our restaurant faves.
