I was not impressed by this Mexican restaurant at all. The place itself and the atmosphere were fine, but I ordered the chicken soup and was surprised to find potatoes in it, and they tasted slightly sour. The salsa was not authentic Mexican-style either; it seemed more like canned diced tomatoes from the grocery store. The lime was the same way — I could barely squeeze any juice out of it because it was very hard and almost dried out !

We’ve eaten at the Branson location multiple times a year for the last 5 years. The last two years the quality of food has gone down! For example my kids and wife’s tacos were so greasy the taco shells came apart on each taco! When my wife said something, the waiter brought out five new taco shells so we could move the greasy meat & cheese into the new taco shells! The kids were 9&10 so we had to fix theirs also! Very, and I mean very little verbal communication from the waiter! I’m not sure if it’s under new management / ownership but they are not as busy as they used to be!

We had an early Father's Day dinner this evening, and El Lago was the perfect place! They easily seated all 15 of us in a party room, which was just what we wanted! The food was delicious!
