“Born and raised in Belen, NM (although I now reside in Minnesota), I dream of New Mexican food on a daily basis. While visiting St Louis, MO with my family we found this gem of a diner. I had the huevos rancheros (Christmas) and it was amazing. Our server, Nicole, was kind and attentive and our food came out in good time! The owner was seating people as well as cleaning tables as needed. The quirky decor totally made me feel like I was back home in New Mexico! I would definitely recommend this place!“
“Super cute diner. My bf and I had breakfast here on a Sunday and we were lucky we got a table right away, there were people waiting when we left. I had sausage gravy and biscuits and my bf had pancakes, eggs, hash browns. Everything was delicious. We will be back.“
“It's a great place to go and have breakfast. The place is small and always packed. Even when they are busy, the wait hasn't been more than 20 minutes. The food is always good and it's very affordable. I have yet to be disappointed.“
“Stepping into The Buttery Diner was like stepping back in time, with its classic diner décor and friendly staff. The aroma of coffee and sizzling food filled the air, whetting my appetite for the pork chop meal I'd come for.My order arrived promptly, presented on a vintage diner plate. The centerpiece was a bone-in pork chop, cooked to a perfect golden brown, with grill marks that whispered of deliciousness. As I cut into it, the juices ran clear, revealing a juicy and tender interior. The seasoning was simple, allowing the natural flavors of the pork to shine through. Each bite was a symphony of meaty goodness, perfectly balanced with the mild savory notes.Accompanying the pork were two fluffy mashed potatoes, creamy and buttery without being overwhelming. The green beans were fresh and crisp, seasoned with just the right amount of salt and pepper. They provided a welcome counterpoint to the richness of the pork and potatoes. No diner experience is complete without dessert, and I opted for a classic slice of apple pie. The crust was flaky and buttery, encasing a warm and gooey apple filling that was bursting with flavor. A scoop of vanilla ice cream on top added the perfect touch of sweet creaminess.Throughout my meal, the service was attentive and friendly. My server was always there to refill my water and answer any questions I had, making me feel welcome and comfortable.Overall, The Buttery Diner was a delightful experience. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was charming. I left feeling satisfied and happy, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a classic diner experience with a modern twist.“
“It's small, but don't let that dissuade you. The food was great (could have eaten 3 plates of the buscits and gravy), the staff friendly, and the number of locals who came in to grab orders to go showed me it was a great choice to eat here.“
“A real American diner, great atmosphere, you eat at the counter next to other customers with whom you can chat while sipping your coffee.I only came there for breakfast but the omelettes are very good, the egg sandwich too, and the coffee is okay for what it is.Great value for money and it's really cheap. To top it all off, the boss is very nice.“
“Has some of the best diner food, willing to make pretty much any kind of combo that you can think of. But it's a cash only business.... No cards allowedVegetarian options: I don't see any vegetarian optionsDietary restrictions: Can usually make any substitutions on any meal if need beParking: The parking lot is very smallKid-friendliness: They are kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Have wheel chair access“
“This is the only classic diner, featuring barstool counter seating you will find anywhere close to the area, and it delivers exactly what you would expect - entertainment from skilled short order cooks, decent hot coffee, efficient and friendly service, and scrumptious food. What I ate: - eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, toast: (4/5) Very tasty! Crispy, hot hashbrowns. Perfectly cooked over easy eggs, decent sausage. Toast made for jam. - pancake: (4/5) hot, fluffy and just what you would expect! Check them out!“
“We had a wonderful breakfast here. It is a down home classic diner. You have to be a bit patient as one person can only do so much at once. But it was very delicious and cozy. I never had a Slinger Plate but I would suggest adding onions and shredded cheese. The French Toast is kind of small so if you usually get two and IHOP then you should order three here.“
“Loved the biscuits and gravy and the cheese omelette with bacon. The amount of bacon was amazing! We sat a listened to a long timer educate a fellow employee on the best nights to work for tips. Between the food and service, we had a great date night. We will definitely be back as this is the best Courtesy Diner in St Louis. Don’t miss out on stopping here, you won’t be disappointed.Vegetarian options: It can be as vegetarian as you want.“
“Kingside Diner definitely lived up to its reputation! I had a fantastic breakfast experience at the bar, enjoying bottomless coffee, a bacon omelet, and yogurt with berries. Everything was absolutely delicious. One of the highlights was the speed of service. My food arrived quickly, which is perfect for those mornings when you're short on time. Plus, I can't forget to mention the fantastic service I received from Kelly at the bar. She was attentive and friendly, making the entire experience even more enjoyable.Overall, I highly recommend Kingside Diner for a delicious and fast breakfast. The friendly service is just the icing on the cake!“
“We drive out of our way to visit this location, because the food, and especially the service, are the best. Ciara was out server during our most recent visit, and she was outstanding - personable and attentive. The service was quick, and our orders were correct and delicious,“
“I went to this establishment I must say the food is every bit of four stars. The chicken was overcooked in my opinion but well seasoned but if you love soul food to go I would say give this establishment a try because for the money you can't go wrong but the dine in part of this establishment needs to be worked on somebody with a vision to overhaul the sit down area. To say it sweet this area is not inviting , How ever I went back to this establishment two days in a row and the chicken was on point, but today 03/26/2024 I believe this establishment opens up around 11:00 am. I arrived around or about 11:45 am NOTE: I said all that to say this. The chicken was hard and cold, which caused me to believe this chicken was from last night or at closing. THEREFORE I say to whoever is concerned "DON'T" be the first person who order chicken wings, or better yet don't order chicken wings if they're not set out in front where you can see them, because I thought something was peculiar because everything is set up like a buffet and you can see the food through the glass and the people who are serving you, but the chicken wings were in the back where you can't see them, so if the chicken wings are not in sight I wouldn't advise you to order the chicken wings, but everything else is in sight and that's just my opinion. Again if you love soul food. I say go for it. ? and I'm just saying?“
“Good was great. Staff was very nice. Atmosphere is very cute.But...Tiny portions. Burgers are small. Onion rings were small and there were 7-8 in an order. So order more than you think you need. Also their "make it in house" root beer is just IBC. Making it in house is just combining soda with syrup like every fountain drink ever.“
