Absolutely a joke I eat here all the time and today I waited 35 min and still didn't get my food and when I went to cancel my order they got smart with me and extremely rude I eat here almost every week but I will never be back after the experience today

Steak and Shake used to distinguish itself from other burger places by having table service with your meal served on real plates, with metal cutlery, and your drink in a glass. But now it's just like any other fast food place, with kiosk ordering and pick up your food at the counter. On my last visit they were pretty busy and the place was a mess. Finding a clean-ish table was a challenge. The staff were friendly and the food was decent, but they experience, which is half the reason I ever go there, is now just like any other fast-food place. I understand the difficulties in having a full staff to provide table service, but they still need to maintain cleanliness standards and have clean tables available for dine-in customers.

Fries was a small in a large fry pod and older than my deceased grandparents.
The old lady taking orders and at the window needs a serious attitude adjustment. To act like I asked you to move the world for a strawnana shake is crazy as is, but then to tell me it’s literally up to the person making shakes to mix flavors or not and shutting the window in my face because your miserable is something else entirely.
Steak N Shake is gone at this location. No waiters, no personal interaction at all this place has lost it's charm. Now it's just another burger joint. No more seasoned fries. Half the menu is gone. Such a disappointment to see it go this way. Bathrooms dirty and in need of repair.

Update: got to my hotel and get my food out and there is no Spoon for the chili and no straws for the two shakes I bought. How does a restaurant that you’re getting something to go does not put a spoon in when you have chili or straws for shakes?
The rudest employee I have ever met at steak ‘n Shake. I placed a mobile order and I went to the drive-through and they told me that they cannot give Mobile orders that right that you have to come in. I try to explain the reason why I’m not able to come in at this time and they told me basically too bad. I asked for them to cancel the order and they said I had to do it on the app, however there is not anywhere on the app that you can cancel the order. This evening was a special circumstance for myself, however, since the order was almost $30, and I was unable to cancel I went in to get it and all I could think about is my family members that I Have that is disabled, and it would be so much more for them to get out of their vehicles To get the orders and then it would be for them just to hand it through the drive-through window. Honestly, I don’t mind going in. I’m the person that will take Stairs Instead of elevators or Park in the back parking lot to walk up.

Pulled up to speaker, ordered #2. The woman on speaker didn’t say anything after we ordered it, then told us to pull around. We said we weren’t finished. She said “excuse me?” rudely. I said, “I wanted to order something else.” And she said “pull around to window,” where she would take the rest of our order, but we waited for 5 minutes for a vehicle in front of us to leave before we even got to the window.
