Watami Sushi & Hibachi Steakhouse (Cape Girardeau)

My first time visiting a hibachi and it was a great experience. I went with my family and we had an amazing time. I chose salmon and chicken. We will definitely visit this establishment again.

If a server is going to neglect a table and act like it’s a chore to come by, it’s not helpful. Hibachi chef was polite, though he buried multiple entrees when he distributed vegetables. Prices were a little higher than I expected, then they got increased by a mandatory tip for a table of 9-10 people, even though there were seven of us.
Used to be an incredible place. Maybe it’s better at lunch. If my friend hadn’t picked Watami out for his birthday, we’d have rightly gone elsewhere. I doubt I’ll come back in my own.

We live an hour away but love their fried rice. Today we had their vegetable tempura, combo fried rice and tuna sushi. All was great. Excellent service. Would highly recommend.

My biggest complaint is one of the hibachi chef’s has mocked and made fun of my laugh on at least 2 separate visits at least a month apart. It sucks when you go to enjoy good food and have a good time and you get taken down to feeling so small and so bad about yourself. It makes me not want to come back. I hate that because I love the food here.

Gorgeous presentation of Sashimi from both Sushi Chefs at the Sushi bar, kudos for them putting their hearts into every meal.

Extremely satisfied with this visit.

You really should try their sushis and sashimis if you are in Cape Girardeau.

Sushi is fresh and high quality. Volcano roll was excellent. I loved the walnut shrimp. It's hard to find places that serve it, so I was excited to get it. It was excellent. Big shrimp, cook perfect. Portions are a good size and filling. They also serve boba tea and take orders right at the counter if you are looking for a good option. Service was fast and friendly. The robot that brings the food to the table was fun to watch.

Waitress took drink order, food order & serve meal. Didn't see her until she brought the bill...
I don't like them adding in a tip...I tip for good service...and we didn't receive good service...
