Watami Sushi & Hibachi Steakhouse (Cape Girardeau)

First time here and the wife and I enjoyed ourselves very much. Service was very good. So was the food. We will be back.

My biggest complaint is one of the hibachi chef’s has mocked and made fun of my laugh on at least 2 separate visits at least a month apart. It sucks when you go to enjoy good food and have a good time and you get taken down to feeling so small and so bad about yourself. It makes me not want to come back. I hate that because I love the food here.

Gorgeous presentation of Sashimi from both Sushi Chefs at the Sushi bar, kudos for them putting their hearts into every meal.

Extremely satisfied with this visit.

You really should try their sushis and sashimis if you are in Cape Girardeau.

Sushi is fresh and high quality. Volcano roll was excellent. I loved the walnut shrimp. It's hard to find places that serve it, so I was excited to get it. It was excellent. Big shrimp, cook perfect. Portions are a good size and filling. They also serve boba tea and take orders right at the counter if you are looking for a good option. Service was fast and friendly. The robot that brings the food to the table was fun to watch.

Waitress took drink order, food order & serve meal. Didn't see her until she brought the bill...
I don't like them adding in a tip...I tip for good service...and we didn't receive good service...

Hibachi was fun. Waitress kept telling us it was shift change and was rushing us to leave. As a result I did not tip. She proceeded to ask, "No tip?", very loudly and rudely. Overall not a good experience.

The building itself has a nice ambiance and is well arranged. The customer service was horrible, we had a young Asian waitress who was extremely rude and seemed as if she didn’t wanna be bothered with us, our cook however was friendly but the food was made terribly and he just threw it on our plates like slobs he gave us so much rice or filled the entire plate and just threw everything on top which disgusted me. I’ve never experienced such terrible hibachi. The rice was disgusting mushy and had no flavor. I would never go back! Then at the end when it was time to pay they took 20 minutes to bring our change and when we asked they yelled hold on. I am a person who typically tips extremely well. I wanted all of my $$ honestly, we left most of the food. I would not recommend to anyone and I most definitely will not return.
