Always a nice place to sit and relax while you have lunch or dinner. Waitresses are wonderful and funny!

My best friend and I went for lunch today. First the food was fine. The queso flavor was good, but other reviews are right that it is very watery. My fajitas were not bad, but not the best I've ever had in my life either. The dining area was not particularly clean. There was a table with piles of paperwork and junk on it as we were walking in. The table we were sat at was not cleaned off after previous guests. He grabbed the mostly eaten basket of chips as we were sitting down. The seats felt greasy and when my friend leaned back on hers the back started to detach from the rest of the seat. The owner served our table and pretty quickly started in with the "jokes". He walked up behind my friend and playfully stuck a straw into her arm. I thought surely he was a friend, she knows everyone. But NOPE. Good for her she stood up for herself and asked him to stop. One would think at that point when a joke fails so spectacularly that he would have thought "Oh this table does not appreciate my jokes, so I'll stop". Instead he kept making the weird, boundary pushing jokes the whole time. He offered me another straw, when I said I didn't need one (since he'd brought them with our drinks at the beginning) he jokingly offered me a whole handful. He made that joke twice. Whatever at least it's harmless. THEN he comes up to our table while we're deep in a serious conversation and says, "Here's a beer for you" and then "spills" the fake trick beer. I fully about jumped out of my skin. I just wanted to have a peaceful lunch on a bit of a difficult day and chill out with my friend. Honestly, I could SORT OF get it if the idea is that this restaurant is a fun, family friendly place where the servers joke around with you. However according to long time Carthage residents, he does this all the time but only to women. So that's kinda creepy. It just made the whole meal a bit awkward. We won't be back.

Fantastic no matter what you order never disappoints

Food quality seems to continue to decline. Their queso is basically water, you dip the chip and it just runs right off. There is no “cheese” flavor because it’s so thinned out. Keep giving chance after disappointment because at one point in time it was my families choice of Mexican in town, and it’s like a coin toss of it might be good or be bad (like it was tonight) but it seems every time we give it time and come back, we quickly realize why we stoped ordering from there. Whatever changed, change it back. Especially with the price you charge for Queso but give 90% water and 10% cheese flavor. 🤮

I ate here with my daughter and her two girls, aged 2 and 4.
The server was patient with the small girls (thank you).
All of our food was good. Mainstream fare. Enchiladas, tacos, and so on.
The unexpected highlight of our meal was the awesome guacamole. Perhaps the best guac. I have eaten and I came from the North Mexican state of Texas.
The table service was great even though we ordered no alcohol ( I am a reformed alcoholic).
Prices were reasonable.
Great food, good service, pleasant atmosphere, and fair prices = five stars.

Me & my husband frequent this location about once a week. A majority of the time we get decent service and decent food. Most of the time it’s them forgetting to not include something on the plate, or sometimes the food won’t be good. Tonight I’m extremely disappointed, we choose this restaurant time and time again because we love their queso.
They have raised their prices over the past year, and we continue to support. However, I will not support charging $9 for this queso and it literally being 2% cheese 98% water. So disappointed and will find somewhere else in town to go for awhile.

Our first visit here. Our server was Martin Jr. He was excellent and fast and highly recommend. The food was great and fast and the guacamole was very good. The prices were reasonable. When back in Carthage we will visit this place again!
