Just wanted to clarify from the review right before mine. Daves world famous doesn’t serve food anymore. Just hate to see this amazing local bar being mistaken about having roaches in their food when they don’t even serve food. Not sure if the guy was just trolling or perhaps had the wrong establishment. Daves is definitely vintage but it is always clean and repeatedly maintains perfect rating from inspection which are available for the public to check out for themselves. A bar doesn’t stay around for 42 years unless it’s clean, safe, fun, great service and cold beer and amazing cocktails.

Incredibly disgusting!! Sat at the bar and was watching the TV whilst I ate and halfway through my meal I noticed 3 cockroachs in my food and LITERALLY saw one FALL INTO MY BEER FROM CEILING!! I right away complained to staff and they had the AUDACITY to get mad at me for it. I showed them the cockroach in my drink and they took it away and served me a new one.....uhhhhh....no?! I said I didn't want another one and I was done eating so I was brought my bill. I was shocked and asked why I was being charged and was given attitude and told I had eaten more than half the food and had almost finished my beer so I had to pay. I walked out and couldn't care if to not be allowed back. I felt so sick to my stomach and was just astonished by their lack of concern or willingness to care about the situation. Wish I could leave 0 stars.

Smoking is still allowed (encouraged??) inside....so be advised.
I ordered an overpriced BLT+fries. Both items tasted like they'd been stored/prepared in an ashtray, and the fry oil needed to be changed probably 5 yrs ago.
Unless you're a chainsmoker, I'd avoid this place like the plague. 0/10 do not recommend.

My first visit here was yesterday. The name of the place is awfully pretentious, but it doesn't stop there. The lunch I tried was their Best Ever Pork Cutlet. It was pretty good, but.......best ever? I knocked the atmosphere for this place down a star because the interior lighting was way too dark for my taste, but that's just me. Coming in out of bright sunlight makes it a safety issue in my opinion. I will mention that this was one of the few places I've been that really knows how to do french fries right - crunchy outside with a soft interior. The place was a little run down, but they certainly are confident, and their prices are quite reasonable.

best burger of my life. thick, juicy, charbroiled. bun was toasted and buttery. I was pleasantly surprised. I called it in after seeing a client in the area and was too tired to cook and this was on the way home. I walked in and it looked like your typical hole in the wall bar. Reeked of cigarettes so my expectations were low. But man, I will be back for that burger. Nothing fancy but perfect. Got the Alaskan burger and it was HUGE. Could only eat about a third before tapping out. Picked up at 6:45 on a Monday. There weren't many people. Burger was fine in 15 min from when I called
