Just wanted to clarify from the review right before mine. Daves world famous doesn’t serve food anymore. Just hate to see this amazing local bar being mistaken about having roaches in their food when they don’t even serve food. Not sure if the guy was just trolling or perhaps had the wrong establishment. Daves is definitely vintage but it is always clean and repeatedly maintains perfect rating from inspection which are available for the public to check out for themselves....
My first visit here was yesterday. The name of the place is awfully pretentious, but it doesn't stop there. The lunch I tried was their Best Ever Pork Cutlet. It was pretty good, but.......best ever? I knocked the atmosphere for this place down a star because the interior lighting was way too dark for my taste, but that's just me. best burger of my life. thick, juicy, charbroiled. bun was toasted and buttery. I was pleasantly surprised. I called it in after seeing a client in the area and was too tired to cook and this was on the way home. I walked in and it looked like your typical hole in the wall bar. Reeked of cigarettes so my expectations were low. But man, I will be back for that burger. Nothing fancy but perfect. Got the Alaskan burger and it was HUGE. Could only eat about a third before tapping...
