I've heard nothing but good things about this restaurant, the team, and Chef Matt. My mom and I were so lucky that he and the Long Row Lavender team created such a fun farm-to-table dinner earlier this fall. After that, we knew we had to go to his restaurant and it was easily one of the best restaurants we've been to recently. It's a small space, but beautiful and the service was amazing. They made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. They partner with surrounding farmers and purveyors and it shows on the plate! Absolutely delicious. We're already looking forward to going back.

From Greeting to Goodbye – The Best Dining Experience in St. Louis!
From the moment we stepped through the doors of The Westchester, it was clear we were in for something extraordinary. Chef Matt himself greeted us warmly at the entrance — a rare and personal touch that set the tone for the evening. That first-class welcome was just the beginning of what turned out to be an unforgettable night.
While waiting for our table, we made our way to the bar where the exceptionally talented bartender Bryan (more of a true craft cocktail artist) created top-notch drinks that were as beautiful as they were delicious. Each pour felt intentional, and the flavors were spot on — the perfect start to the evening.
Once seated, we were placed in the capable and caring hands of Brandi, who took care of us with a level of service that can only be described as superb. She was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and had a genuine warmth that made us feel like honored guests rather than just another table.
What really stood out was how Chef Matt didn’t just greet us once and disappear into the kitchen — he made it a point to check in throughout the evening to ensure everything was as expected. And it wasn’t just us — he did so throughout the restaurant. That level of personal attention is something you just don’t find everywhere.
From start to finish, the entire staff delivered a seamless, coordinated experience. This wasn’t just dinner and drinks — Chef Matt and his team transformed it into a full-fledged experience. The energy, the pacing, the personal touches — everything came together to make the night come alive in a way that’s rare to find.
In a city like St. Louis (or Chesterfield to be exact), where the restaurant scene is full of incredible options, The Westchester stands at the very top. Chef Matt and his team hold the title of absolute best in town — not just for their food, but for the way they make you feel while you’re there. If you’re looking for more than just a meal, and instead want a night you’ll truly remember, The Westchester is the place.
Lots of good burbon and whiskey, great food

Ordered the shrimp and grits, substituted scallops. Scallops were dry and overcooked, this also came with pork belly which was dry and chewy. I let others in our table taste both and all agreed it was terrible and not worth $54.00 !!! I mentioned this to server but she seemed not concerned like it was my issue not the chefs. No credit, no complimentary dessert, no apologies, no problem. No way ever going back to this extremely overpriced restaurant.

Great food, lively atmosphere, outstanding bartenders and service. One of our all-time favorites!
Hands down our favorite place in town! The minute you get there you’re greeted by John (one of the owners). The bartenders, James and Brian are both great and always make you feel like you’re visiting with a friend. A lot of times we decide to pop in last minute and just sit at the bar and have dinner and even though it’s a bar, it’s still a very elevated experience. Last but certainly not least, the food… I have literally never tried a dish here that I didn’t love. Chef Matt and James go out of their way to continuously provide the best dining experience and the most delicious entrees! I would recommend making a reservation if you want a table. You won’t be disappointed.
10/10 experience. Our server, Brandie, was exceptional and the restaurant was very small with a great atmosphere. Our food was fantastic. It’s expensive, but well worth the price IMO.
My husband and I went here for his birthday. Made reservations online and had no wait to be sat when we arrived. The service was phenomenal! Her knowledge of the menu was great. I had the steak special with morale mushrooms and it was quite literally the best steak I’ve ever had! My husband got the seafood stew as recommended and he also loved it. We tried the crème brûlée for dessert which to no surprise was also delicious! The only downside was it was a smaller dining area and quite loud inside making it hard to have a conversation without yelling. They did have outside seating available which would be great for those mild weather days.
Food was outstanding. Service was better... somehow.
6 stars if I could.
