Beautiful restaurant, excellent food, good service, the only negative as a single diner, I made a reservation and was never seated at a table. Made for a not so good first impression.

Great quality steaks, great service but you have ask is it with the very high prices. Never had a bad meal there. It's definitely a special occasion restaurant. Can be very loud.

Amazing restaurant! We were in town for business and wanted a nice steakhouse to go to for a birthday dinner. This was an amazing choice!!! Greeted upon entry, perfect placement of seating, and top tier quality food choices. Our server was amazing as well!

Our food and service was excellent. I had a New York strip that was cooked to perfection. My wife had the salmon was just also cooked to perfection. The sides were terrific – cream, corn, garlic, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. Our waiter/ staff was attentive and very knowledgeable.

This is our second time in a week dining at 801 Chophouse. Last weekend all we could handle were appetizers but this week we came hungry. Again we chose to sit at the bar and the wife had an excellent Cosmopolitan. We split the filet and had Maytag blue cheese potatoes and mushrooms as the side. We had the small offering of the sides and still only managed to eat half. Once again the ambiance and bartenders were excellent. The location is just steps from the Ritz and is now our favorite restaurant in Clayton.

Our waiter was not very good. Service was slow and at times it seemed as if we were being ignored. He walked by our table three times and failed to remove the items from our table after we completed dinner. Water glasses were left empty. We expected much more from an establishment like 801 Chophouse.

The food was alright. But we have been to comparable restaurants where the food is much better. Normally, I can cut my filet with a fork it is so tender, which was definitely not the case on Friday evening. The service was awful. We had to track down our waitress several times. My daughter said the Expresso martini was great and the two desserts that we brought home were delicious. But the service was extremely disappointing.

This was our first time at 801 Chop House but it will not be our last. Excellent atmosphere and decor. We sat at the bar and had appetizers for dinner. We had PEI oysters, mussels and French Onion soup. The bartenders were great. Steps away from the Ritz. We enjoyed it so much that we are returning next weekend and we will come hungry so as to enjoy the entrees.

The restaurant was nice, and the service was impeccable. The crab cake was made with canned crab, and the lobster Mac and cheese had al dente pasta and tasted like cinnamon, which we didn't like. Oysters were great. Lobster bisque was great. Steaks were great. Crème brûlée was great. Food was good, but the prices were high.
We had a good time with great service and tasty cocktails. The beef tartare was delicious and the 801 Signature oysters were meaty, fresh and briny! The sea bass special was disappointing as it was overcooked and the accompanying Brussels sprouts were not well seasoned and uncooked. The meal ended on a high note with complimentary birthday cake :-)

It's always an amazing meal at 801 Chophouse. The Steak Tartare and Tuna Tartare are exceptionally fantastic. The steak tarare is truly the best we've ever had! Sides are generous and steaks/entree's are as well. Everything is cooked to perfection...and the kitchen is always happy to make minor changes to a dish to accommodate a guest. Service was rushed this visit...but that isn't the norm for 801. We highly recommend 801 Chophouse to anyone traveling through St. Louis. You won't be disappointed!

The majority of our experience was fantastic. The food and service was excellent from the valet parking to our server. The noise level was pretty significant, especially from the group of commodities traders sitting adjacent to us that felt the need to use their outside voices. We otherwise would definitely go back. The steaks were perfectly done as ordered and were wonderful. The sides were very tasty and very good portions. Despite them being quite busy, all the service was timely and the servers were helping each other checking on clientele.

Food and service were excellent. Had porterhouse steak and it was prepared perfectly. Maytag blue potatoes and brussel sprouts were also delicious. Only complaint was it was a bit noisy but it was very busy.
