Had our Valentine’s dinner at Akar and it was just awesome, as usual. My wife went for the gnocchi, I had the short ribs, and we kicked things off with the cabbage — all of it spot‑on.

Akar is one of the most underrated restaurant in STL, in my opinion. Every meal I have had there is 10/10 and so flavorful. The best way to describe the cuisine in 3 words would be “elevated asian fusion”, but that doesn’t even begin to describe the dishes. My partner had the duck entree’ and it was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I had the fish special as my entree’ and I can’t even begin to describe the flavors- like nothing I have ever had in STL.
