Bayou Shrimp & Rice Soup

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆

The Bayou Shrimp and Rice soup was a disappointment. The buttery base overwhelmed every other seasoning, leaving the dish flat and greasy rather than flavorful. For $15, the portion was small and the quality didn’t come close to justifying the price.

If you’re aiming for bold Southern flavor, this missed the mark. A tomato-based broth—something like a spicy marinara—might have balanced the shrimp and rice better and let the seasoning shine.

Verdict: Overpriced, underwhelming, and not worth a second try.

We go to CJ Mugg's at least once a year. There is a cozy vibe here and the food is excellent if you're looking for casual dining. Plenty of space and their staff are top notch.

Got new ownership the past few years and they've seemed to put money into place. They've updated the menu as well. Overall it still has a great vibe and decent prices. The food is good and the staff has always been great no matter who we get. The staff turnover seems much lower than many restaurants. It has become one of our regular go to restaurants over the years.

I’m pretty sure I was still at cj Mugg’s after my first vodka and soda. This spot has great food and drinks and the staff is the finest in town. Olivia might be my favorite but they’re all pretty top shelf and saucy too.

I come in for a pick up order, I check in with the waitress wearing a headband and a lot of foundation, she says it’s not ready yet, I wait for 20minutes maybe 5ft away from the bar in front of the hallway that leads to the restroom, another waitress checks in with me asks am I waiting for an order, I say yes and they go and check for it and she brings it back immediately, I say maybe the waitress I checked in with that wears a lot of make up forgot about me and she says maybe the cook didn’t call it out, I say that’s possible and as I’m walking I hear the foundation faced waitress say “I called that one out” …. Why lie? Accountability is free.

No one in the restaurant and it still took 15 minutes to get someone to take my order. The food was okay and the prices were reasonable. All and all a safe bet if not super exciting.

Just had our Parkway Central 50th Class Reunion Friday Night Happy Hour! It was perfect! Gina was great to work with along with Brittany the server that evening! Outside Patio was also a great plus for group to have more room!

The food was ok. Its got the old restaurant and bar feel. TV for watching sports. The upside is the outdoor seating and servers coming out often to you. It can get crowded and overwhelming for the staff. The food was better but is slowly dropping in quality. I used to be better.
