Trying different restaurants in n the Clayton area. This one missed the mark. Not a busy Sunday evening but our server was not seen again after order was placed. Food runner delivered entrees, bartender cleared and brought check. My wife ordered the airline chicken and was not impressed with the small, thin breast with an accompanying wing. Plate consisted primarily of green peppers and fingerling potatoes. My steak frites was extremely undercooked - nowhere near medium with a side of fries that looked like something from Wendy's. For $55 I would have expected a more creative plate presentation. As mentioned, server was too busy to check on us to ensure satisfaction, so I finished my plate and my wife left hungry. No offer of dessert nor drink refilled from anyone. Not that $125 is an exorbitant amount of money, but too many options in the area for us to consider returning or recommending.

Since it was so nice out, we ate on the patio, which is one of the best patios in town. The speaker next to us was low enough we could have a conversation and hear each other. The drinks were nice. We shared a burrata salad, since tomatoes are in season. It was not good. It had radishes that were very woody, hard to cut and tough to chew. My husband's Branzino entree was adequate. He said I made a better branzino dish. I had the special pasta with shitake mushrooms and duck. i enjoyed it. Could have used a bit of pepper on top. Service was mediocre. Water glasses were not refilled. It appears to be a one fork establishment for all courses. I expect a salad fork with my salad, but maybe they knew I would need a bigger fork to fight the woody radishes. I know it's a casual place, but it should be a bit more polished.

I had a great lunch with 2 friends on the beautiful patio on Friday. I changed my entree to exclude dairy and meat. They were accommodating and the food was delicious. The service was great!

I've had Airline chicken at other restaurants and usually love it—but here, it came out unlike anything I've had before. It lacked the classic preparation and texture I expected. I also ordered the Herbie's burger well-done, but it arrived burnt and flat. The patties were pressed too thin and didn't hold their shape or flavor. On the plus side, our server Olivia was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and warm. She truly elevated the experience despite the kitchen issues. I hope Herbie's starts backing up their great service with food quality that matches.
