First time trying the restaurant. Server was a sweetheart, super nice and helpful. Food mediocre at best, very VERY salty, steak ordered medium rare, came medium well, they apologized and brought a new one almost right away, manager stopped and apologized as well, so this was greatly appreciated. Insane amount of salt used in almost everything. Duck risotto underwhelming, the rice was sweet and kinda almost syrupy, the chicken was okay. Definitely way too expensive for the quality of the food offered. Nothing bad to say about service at all, we genuinely enjoyed our server, ambiance ok, but ultimately the food just was not that good. We probably won't go back.
Awsome brunch. Great food better service also they have very affordable bottomless mimosas!
Had a great experience from beginning to end. Cocktails were a twist on classics and were fun and delicious. We tried the crab cakes and to my delight they were not all filler. The surf and turf frankfurter was awesome as well as the salmon. I didn't try the steak but my friend said it was delicious. Service was very friendly and had great suggestions. Will definitely be back
Interesting space. Service was excellent as is the wine list. Food was average at best. I had the scallops which were excellent. My wife had the roasted chicken with gnocchi. The dish was salty and the chicken was dry. Overall it was "ok". One friend had the fall flat bread and said it was good. Another had the halibut and shrimp special over angel hair pasta and it was too salty to finish and the fish was over cooked. All in all it was a one and done experience, there are much better restaurants in the area.
A family member and I planned a reunion weekend for November 7th centering around an evening at Powell Hall followed by a late dinner in Clayton. The two choices for dinner were the Capital Grill and Herbie's. I selected Herbie's for the lighter fare. Both restaurants offered a 9:45 PM reservation. The War Requiem started and ended later than scheduled. I made the reservation with Herbie's on October 12th. On November 7th, I received a call from Valerie at Herbie's informing me that the kitchen would close at 10:00 PM, and our food had to be ordered by 10:00 PM or the restaurant would be closed. We arrived at 9:40 PM, and it seemed that Herbie's was indeed closing. We were in our seats and ordering at precisely 9:45. We made it; 9:45 PM as confirmed. However, the vibe was that we were two puppies who wet the floor between the front door and our table. My point is that if Herbie's is going to offer a dinner reservation for 9:45 PM then honor it. Don't call your guests on the day of the reservation to change the script. The final reservation at 9:45 should be treated with the same respect as each previous reservation, and if this is not possible then don't offer it.
The chef , Shelly, was extremely accommodating in preparing a special vegan brunch entree for me. As I had noted my dietary requirements in the Open Table reservation, the chef cared enough to call me before we arrived to tell me that they did not have a vegan entree on the menu. Collaborating, however, we developed an entree based on what they had on hand: quinoa with bell pepper, onion, tomatoes and mushrooms. I was surprised when the server brought our bill and informed us that since they didn't have my entree on the menu, they priced it the same as my partner's meal: a three-egg omelet of bell pepper, onion, pepper jack cheese and mushroom along with bacon, sausage, and potatoes. $18. I don't want to seem ungrateful as the chef was very thoughtful in facilitating my diet. But while the quinoa entree was absolutely delicious, I think it was overpriced by $2 to $4. The quinoa entree came out first. So ingredients were readily available. It was soon followed by the omelet entree. Again, I greatly appreciate and commend Herbie's chef's consideration and hope that they will add this entree to their menu at a more reasonable price (maybe $15 or $16) so that other vegans can enjoy brunch at such a lovely restaurant.
My spouse had the scallops which came with parsnips (the parsnips were not shown on the menu) - the scallops were salty and the parsnips were woody and undercooked. I had the harvest linguine - the linguine was overcooked. Instead of a "cream sauce" there was some type of paste. there were a fair amount of mushrooms and cranberries which completely overpowered the linguine. For a Saturday night I would have thought they would have had their "A" chef, but apparently not. We have eaten here numerous times and it always seems to be hit or miss on how the food is prepared.
Had a great meal with even better service. The server let us know the fall menu is coming out soon.
We had a very pleasant experience in Herbie's outdoor patio on a beautiful evening. The service and meal were both excellent.
Had an unfortunate experience that has yet to be resolved even though day time manager said situation was not acceptable. 7:45pm reservation on the patio for a group of 6-7 and our first round of drinks did not arrive till 8:25pm. Three out of the four food dishes we ordered had arrived, before our drinks. Followed up with the server once to check in on timing for the drinks, was told bar was behind. About 10 minutes later drinks came out. Asked if we were still getting the full charge for these as we waited quite a while and had been fully served our food. Was told that was up to the manager however the large party service charge would be removed from the bill. Once we received our bills, we noticed the large party service fee was still on there along with all the drinks.
Called next day (Sunday) to follow up on the situation and give feedback. Day time manager said that the drinks situation was unacceptable and that the evening manager will be in contact with me to resolve. She even said the bar is fully staffed on Saturday evenings, so that should have never happened. I unfortunately have not been contacted by evening staff and am disappointed in the willingness to resolve the situation. At this point no one from our party would go back.

Love Herbie's. This was an off day. I ordered eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce in the side. It came out as normally prepared with the sauce on the dish. My wife asked for specific ingredients in her omelette. Wasn't asked if she wanted it or not, but it came with cheese inside and melted on top. She didn't want cheese and didn't order cheese. Otherwise, all was good.
This was a great brunch for a family member's birthday. Great food, service, and location.

We read the reviews before booking Herbie's. Limited menu selection. Food was okay. Nice outdoor area paired with a beautiful evening made it a nice dinner. Portions were generous but I much preferred great food, smaller quantities than a Cheesecake Factory feeling.
Salmon and Brussels are delicious. My wife said her burger was also very good. The bread pudding with carmel sauce was outstanding!!
