Been here before and was good. Went in this morning and got breakfast, and about 20-30 minutes felt absolutely sick. It definitely wasn’t worth it; it wasn’t even going to be our first choice for breakfast. If you’re looking for a good breakfast, either eat at home or go to Ernie’s. Nothing we had this morning was very good and was fine chocking it up to an off day until we both sat feeling sick.

I was actually across the street, as we were invited to provide a Proposal for services in the area.

I got the philly cheese steak and it had 0 flavor. Then they hand you a bag of lays for the side. Which seemed lazy and uninspiring. Worst part is, I don't like lays.

Food was great. Service was horrible. Waitress seemed annoyed by customers.

I am completing all “100 things to do in Columbia, MO” book (by MU professor Steven Paul Sayers). This place was “just ok”. We waited probably 20 minutes in the small cramped area right by the bathroom and another table eating right by there made it awkward. The food was….fine. This was the day after Christmas and we got there at 10:30 and I guess they were closing at noon. The food did come quickly. Probably because they don’t seat you even if there are empty tables. We ordered and ate quickly. I think they were in a rush to leave, I understand. It’s the day after Christmas. I wish my order Matt’s Dilema didn’t have chili and gravy on it. I would have asked for no chili. We are foodies who have eaten all over the world so not easily impressed. So this place didn’t wow us and we probably won’t be back. I can see the nostalgia but as not Columbia natives who don’t have that, this place is forgettable. The coffee was good I’ll say that. They charge a fee for credit cards so bring cash or debit if you’re not one who maximizes on credit card points like we do.

Super nice people first time going here and the breakfast was delicious!
Was having issues using my venmo I was told there was a nearby atm to use and Tried to leave my phone for trust whilst I go take out the money but they insisted it was fine.
Very good people and will come back!

Pros: Great service, friendly staff, everything that was cooked was hot, fresh, and well executed, technically.

Cons: a severe lack of seasoning, fermenting ketchup on the table, cash or venmo only, and a QR code to see prices.

Such a lovely little diner in downtown Columbia. We travel and seek out little locally owned establishments such as this one. Wonderful food with stories of it's creation. The staff is warm and friendly. The atmosphere brings a long past nostalgia that warms your heart.

The perfect small diner. Friendly staff, really great food at the right price. If you have not tried this diner you are missing out on a great place to relax and eat.

I've been to the Broadway Diner for breakfast twice recently and have been thoroughly impressed both times. The food captures the timeless diner Americana vibe well, but still feels fresh. The same can be said of the atmosphere, which is much the same- classic but innovative. The service was excellent as well- I had the same server, Dawson, both times, and she was very personable and knowledgable about the menu. I also went on both a rather slow and a rather busy morning, and noticed the skill with which she balanced connecting to customers with the needs of taking orders in a busy kitchen.

While I cannot speak as much about the individual cooks, Ronald and Dave, who made my food- I wasn't paying particular attention to the kitchen staff- I will say that the food was delicious, plated in an orderly and visually appealing manner, and timely both times- I may not have seen much of them but I certainly see and respect their skill.

Genuinely my only complaint about my meals at the Broadway Diner is that I hit my head on the ceiling multiple times both meals. This is a fault only of my own, I am simply too damn tall for this joint and might not recommend it to any equally clumsy giantesses.

First off the diner does not have the authentic diner feel. Second is that the cook doesn’t seem to have much interest in cooking, just going through the motions. Not sure why but the food showed the lack of interest in preparation. I ordered a western omelette my wife had pancakes. I didn’t eat the omelette or the potatoes and the biscuit. The coffee was good, the owner didn’t charge us, not what I wanted or expected. I review many restaurants breakfast, lunch and dinner. I always pay but this gentleman wouldn’t have it.
I don’t know if his cook is burnt out or just not interested in cooking. Quite a few people there

Well stepped out of my car and see a sign that says cash only. What the hell year are we living in. So that's the reason for my review.Don't know how the food was.Or the atmosphere because I don't always carry cash. 🫤
