The giant ‘shroom was cut into shapes like a “fry”……good stuff and a must get. Entree was the brisket. It was good….needed a bit of sauce, which was also good. The Mac n cheese was just awesome! Service was spot on and just right. Restaurant was a nice place and for a Monday evening……seemed really busy. I’d definitely go back and continue to eat the menu.”
“Food was very good. They put my food in a plastic container, put the container in a paper bag, then put the paper bag upside down inside a plastic bag. When I took the food out of the bag, because it was upside down, the container had opened. It was a gigantic sloppy mess. Had to dig most of the food out of the bottom of the paper bag, then use a massive amount of napkins to clean up all the sauce that had dripped all over me, my desk, and the floor. I think the egg roll was good but it was a soggy mess by the time I fished it out of the bag. I ate one bite and the other half of the egg roll was empty. Very frustrating lunch but like I said, it was tasty so I will go back and not get it to go. Or take my own containers and bag it myself.”

“I love Kampai! If I want sushi, this is where I want to go. The Brussels sprouts appetizer is really good— if you like Brussels check it out. I always enjoy getting whatever the special roll is on the chalkboard near the entrance, but the Coo Coos nest roll and the volcano roll are both good staple rolls from the menu.”

“I have a newfound love and appreciation for Polish food after eating here. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Do yourself a favor and order the Bigos. It was a food memory for me and my boyfriend—warm, comforting, and delicious. We ordered the sampler plate for 2 and got a little of everything. My boyfriend said the polish sausage was the best he’d ever eaten. All the stars and thumbs up for this little gem of a restaurant.”

Alanna helped us welcome everyone in classic Missouri style with the best gooey butter cake, cookies and cupcakes! Four families were able to become homeowners because of this event and we could not have done it without everyone coming together! Kind staff, professional and delicious bakery, community focused:10/10 recommend!”

“G&D is a solid diner. What I would say about them is that they exceed expectation for the price, making them an excellent value in my book. I do the fried mushroom appetizer, a salad, burger and fries. They have a mean Philly cheesesteak as well. You will probably also crave their chicken strips again if you try them. The staff is friendly. I plan on giving their steak another try. I had a bite of my wife's steak and it wasn't bad, but I didn't regret not ordering it either. But I'd like to try one that is cooked medium rare before I give a real opinion.”
“These tacos were fantastic. They were also very expensive however. It took quite some time for us to get our tacos and margaritas, then the margaritas came out warm and very syrupy. I got the steak, carnitas, birria. They were each very good and topping them with the salsa bar items was a nice touch. The inside was very dingy and dark. I would suggest getting takeout. I would come here again for the tacos but the price, margaritas and atmosphere of the restaurant are holding this place back.”
“Went here on Easter for a dinner date. Service and food was amazing! I had the hot ham and cheese and the biscuit and jelly was a great touch. My only gripe is that I was not expecting thick chunks of ham, it was a little tough. Regardless, amazing place and would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.”

“Dropped into Big Daddy’s for dinner on a work trip and it did not disappoint. We were late to try the brisket (sold out), but the ribs, pulled pork and sides were absolutely delicious. The owner (Lloyd) capped it off by spending some time at the table, making the visit memorable. When we’re back in town, we’ll be visiting Big Daddy’s again!!”

“I was in from out of town with a friend over the weekend, both of us are Mizzou Alum, and we remembered the brewery being great so we had to stop in. Our servers name was Jade and the service she provided us was excellent, she recommended the pasta special which was delicious. She was very efficient, it was busy, yet we never had an empty glass on our table. It makes me so happy to see that the brewery is still thriving, walking in the door brought back so many great memories, and anytime I’m in town, I will be back. Job well done!”

My wife and I trek from Georgia to Columbia to visit my folks, and as a bbq aficionado, we make it a point to trek 3 hours out of our way to hit Memphis, and we used to ride out to KC each year to hit Slapz, which I still think has the best burnt ends in the country. But that has changed.We stole a lot of time from the bartender, Josh, who kept a smile on his face the whole time and made sure we were dialed in on any and all information we asked for. Excellent service.The smoked turkey here is insane. Best turkey I've ever had, twice. Juicy, flavorful, smokey. Perfect.Okra is fried to perfection, again, not greasy, with an awesome sauce.The baked beans were peppery and thick and some of the best I've had, as I'm not a huge fan of the overly sweet sugary baked beans.The coup de gras were these Reuben Egg rolls. Not for everyone, I'm sure, but they were about the best thing I could have come to hope for as a surprise special.Burnt ends this time were a bit fatty for my taste, with good flavor, and the brisket was a bit dry, but their little heat bbq sauce is amazing, and turned it into utter deliciousness.Avoid the Mac, order the loaded potato salad.BEST BBQ IN THE COUNTRY? No, but, the best I've had outside of KC, Memphis, and a few spots in Texas.”

Despite being their busiest night yet, the customer service was outstanding. They let us move to a quiet space and continued to serve/check on us all night. They had pre-selected 6 games for our group that were great choices. A fantastic night and we’ll be back!”

From the time I ordered at the kiosk to when I walked out the door with my order was probably only 10 minutes and that was with only one lady working. The price was also very reasonable. But our food however, was delicious. The ribs were fall off the bone, had quite a bit more sauce on it than needed....but I could easily scrape it off. My friend had the sesame Tuna. The flavor was great, was barely on the dry side....but still very good. Unfortunately, they don't really have a dessert menu...just a brownie. But for dessert, I had the blackberry Margarita and the bar tender did an excellent job. A little strong (which I like) and the flavor was yummy.”

The man on the other end of the phone was so nice and patient with us as we asked him questions about the menu. When I tell you this food was amazing I mean it. This is what I imagine they greet you with at heavens gates. Pepperoni was AMAZING. Fries were AMAZING. Also good quality ranch. Highly recommend!”

“Great place for a German pub in Downtown Columbia, with the flags of the European countries Germany, the United Kingdom, and Belgium, as well as the United States. I came here with my family 2 1/2 weeks ago for my birthday lunch, because we were going to see my sister and brother-in-law and open Christmas presents at their place in Boonville.They don't have much food to offer. But their Bretzels were delectable, especially topped with a few different sweet and savory spreads! So were their Liège Waffles, my main course! As a special birthday bonus, our waitress offered me an extra Bretzel instead of an alcoholic drink. I do NOT drink alcohol, you see. So my extra Bretzel with some whipped cream made the perfect alternative.”

I'm a BIG tipper but I want my food correct and hot . I was going to tip the waitress 30 dollars because she looked stressed but not after she got an attitude over me saying my food wasn't right and it was cold.. the cook and waitress were gossiping about other employees which is way unprofessional especially in front of customers..”

It was very clean and friendly. When we go to sit down there was someone very clearly not in the right headspace and not sober. We ate our food, and noticed the guy came in and was hovering over our table. We left very quickly, and even started following us to the door. We didn't clean our table, We really wish we did, but we felt unsafe being a small group of teens, and only one girl that we left without doing so. There were great nigiri and sashimi Options, but the rolls were mostly cooked fish or crab/shrimp based. What we ordered though - it was incredible. Hamachi sashimi, rainbow roll, unagi roll, and spider roll. The rainbow roll did have raw salmon and tuna on it, so that was the favorite! But all rolls were incredible!”

Restrooms had scraps of toilet paper all over, the cooks couldn't stop to clean off the counter, and the floor by the toppers was filthy... “Okay this place was SO GOOD. Not sure why this amazing burger place is in a Hyvee, but everyone has to try it. A bit over priced but so delicious! It's fast casual, order at the counter, and we got 2 burgers and an appetizer, with total of about $45.- Jalapeno bacon wontons (4.5/5): Came with six pretty big wontons with this delicious chipotle mayo. Very filling and tasty.- Wahl-apeno burger (4.5/5): This was so yummy! Literally bursting with flavor. Usually I don't like sweet, but this jalapeño pepper jelly was the perfect touch. Cream cheese too. All so good. Tater tots were super crispy.- BBQ bacon burger (4/5): This was good too, cooked well, good flavors. The fries were a bit salty.”

“I cannot stress enough how good this place is, if you like chicken salad you are absolutely going to love whatever you get here. I like the classic carol and the fruity Fran, the grape salad is amazing and I would do some sketchy things for those tiny cookies that come with the combo. The delicious chicken salad aside, I kind of despise their facility layout, there's always something blocking the walking path and I'm habitually confused on where the door is. Sometimes the service is really slow or the staff seem disinterested in placing an order, etc. but overall they're always available and friendly.”

The LaTerraza Mexican Grill was highly recommended, and Luis and his crew did not disappoint with a fajita bar. We have been getting non-stop compliments from our friends and family about how awesome the venue at Waves Cider Co and the LaTerraza Mexican food was and how much fun they had. Kristin, the bartender was super fun and added some joy to our event. The Waves Cider Co is a hidden gem for a casual rehearsal dinner like ours. Sadly they forgot my bread for my take out order but everything else was delicious so I wasn’t too upset.Parking: I got a to-go order but even finding the to-go spots was hard because people eventually parked in those for dine in or blocked them while waiting for people to come out who weren’t able to walk long distances. The lot is big but its lanes are very narrow.”

Main meal was the lamb chops which were tender and creamy mashed potatoes. My table ordered the lobster mac and cheese for us all to share. It was missing something in the flavoring, it was just very bland. I wanted to like it but it did not do it for me. Brussel sprouts were the veggie of the day. Not a huge fan but these were steamed on some sauce which I enjoyed.”

“Best pizza in Columbia, best house made sausage anywhere, a tatziki that would make a resident of Greece happy.Tony's is a legend for locals, I now live in Europe and it's my first stop when I arrive back in the U.S. The pizza has a crisp crust, that has flavor without being oily. The pies are perfectly sauced and generously cheesed, it goes right to the edge of the pie. The superstar on the pizza is their house made sausage, it's heaven on a plate. After eating the sausage here, every other pizza joints sausage pies disappoint.On the Greek menu they serve gyros, and it's popular and great choice, but the Souvlaki is king for me. Tender grilled pork with a thick Greek yogurt based tatziki. No watery tatziki here.The same family has owned it for decades and they are good people. They have a rapport with most of their customers. The inside isn't fancy, but it is what a local pizza joint should look like. I can't wait for my next trip.”
“Food was very good. They put my food in a plastic container, put the container in a paper bag, then put the paper bag upside down inside a plastic bag. When I took the food out of the bag, because it was upside down, the container had opened. It was a gigantic sloppy mess. Had to dig most of the food out of the bottom of the paper bag, then use a massive amount of napkins to clean up all the sauce that had dripped all over me, my desk, and the floor. I think the egg roll was good but it was a soggy mess by the time I fished it out of the bag. I ate one bite and the other half of the egg roll was empty. Very frustrating lunch but like I said, it was tasty so I will go back and not get it to go. Or take my own containers and bag it myself.”

“Had brunch with my son today and I typically don’t write reviews. However, my experience was fantastic. The server we had was sweet and efficient. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. I loved the decor it was very modern mixed with rustic elements. The food was so good and I could feel the difference in my body afterward.. not the crappy fast food feeling but energizing! The server I had was named Alyse and I want to give her a shoutout for an all-round amazing job! She was very sweet to my son and was attentive to our needs! Love this location and will come back!!”

“I have visited this restaurant many times since it opened. The food is absolutely delicious. Generally, I am also impressed with the service. Usually extremely courteous. Unfortunately, that was not the case this evening. Quite disappointing, as we drove quite far to dine here tonight. We arrived at 5:10 pm, and we're immediately greeted by a dark haired young lady who was clearly irritated that customers were even present. She didn't ask us where we would like to sit, or say welcome, she instead said, "You know we close at 6?". Wow. How disappointing. Sorry to inconvenience you. We did get seated but during the whole meal the server was in a rush, was irritated, was curt and it was obvious he wanted to go home and that we weren't welcome. Food was great. But during the entire experience the young lady and young man, who we learned were siblings, still teens, didn't quite understand how to treat customers. It was obvious that they just wanted to go home. The young man again reminded me that they close at 6. He also yelled at me across the restaurant about whether my check was ready. I am sad for the owner who has worked so hard to build such a great business, that he unfortunately trusts these two young people to take care of his customers, but they don't understand how to do that well. Again, the food was great, but the two siblings working this evening were incredibly disappointing. We will be back but hope that the two teens get better at welcoming customers and learning about hospitality. Great food, as always.”

Restrooms had scraps of toilet paper all over, the cooks couldn't stop to clean off the counter, and the floor by the toppers was filthy... The buffet area was fully stocked with fresh ingredients and our waitress was everything we needed, just needed a good sweep up.”
