Alanna helped us welcome everyone in classic Missouri style with the best gooey butter cake, cookies and cupcakes! Four families were able to become homeowners because of this event and we could not have done it without everyone coming together! “This unassuming shop off of broadway is home to the best sandwiches in Columbia. Coming from New York I have craved a fresh deli style sandwich shop, something that Jersey Mike's can closely mimic, but other alternatives struggle to match. The bread is perfect, the meats taste delicious, and the toppings are not soggy. If you want a similar dining experience, you will have to go to upscale restaurants that charge an arm and a leg, but offer off-putting service. The ambiance is what you might expect of a small bar inside of an antiquated theater. This is truly a "must visit" if you're a local or passing through!“

“I was in Columbia recently for my mom's business trip in Columbia and I stopped by Peggy Jean's Pies! OMG I walked in and it was like heaven on earth! The aroma of the pies and the atmosphere was amazing! I felt welcomed and the nice lady at the counter was very helpful/pleasant! I purchased the White Chocolate Strawberry Pie and it was absolutely the best pie I have ever tasted hands down. This pie is really living up to one of the "BEST PIES IN AMERICA by Food Network". I will definitely go back to Peggy Jean's Pies when I come back to Columbia or when I am passing through Columbia! If you have a sweet tooth please please please try Peggy Jean's Pies out!“

“Rhonda did such an amazing job on the cupcakes for my parent's 50th anniversary. Everyone and I do mean EVERYONE was asking who made them! She goes above and beyond to meet your deadlines and really knows how to make sinful cupcakes. I ordered carrot, oreo, red velvet and almond raspberry. Every flavor was outstanding and beautifully decorated. Rhonda's Sweet Treats does not disappoint. What are you waiting for? Order your cupcakes/sweet treats today!!“

“Was more expensive than I anticipated. But my daughter deserved a treat. They didn't have the cookies we wanted but we ordered a variety. Cornbread cookie was so good I wish i had ordered all 6 cornbread. So good. Tried in the car and melted in my mouth it was so good. I had not expected a cookie to be so good. Hope to afford on a different week soon for different variety offered.“

“Update Must Read:Now for the Pot Roast Pot Pie, lordy. I can't say enough spectacular things about it for real. The crust is so flaky and delightful to taste. Biggest pot pie with fabulous crust and holes poked in it, too. Nothing in the stores or another restaurant can compare to it. I couldn't finish it. There's so many big chunks of tasty meat, big tasty potatoes , and plump carrots along with peas. Then the gravy or juices are delicious too. For the price, it's well worth every penny, and I can't wait to try the chicken & Southwest chicken as the owner has winners for sure on these pot pies, kudos.Let's move on to the Cherry Custard yummy pie. I've been looking it seems like forever to find a fabulous custard in a pie.Guess what? I found my dream cherry custard pie. The custard is so creamy, and the sweetness is on point big time along with the perfect cherries. Again, the crust is so flaky and tasty kudos to a perfect crust it's so rare that it doesn't fall apart and holds up to where you can pick it up and eat with your fingers. I must admit that I demolished that pie in hours. Thank God it was only 6 inches.Now I've definitely found my favorite pies the white chocolate strawberry, cherry custard, and of course the pot pies. Big shout out to the Owner on a spectacular bakery filled with such delightful and delicious goodies.Next time, gonna have to try the quiche for sure!The drive from St. Louis is so worth it, and believe me, I'll be going a lot more. Did I mention they ship, too?Pie places and bakeries are one of my favorite places to experience, and Peggy Jean's is definitely a hit and a must visit if you like fabulous tasting pies!It's my favorite place to stop and get pies, both sweet and savory. I called that morning to get 3 white chocolate strawberry pies held for me as I missed the cutoff time the day before they suggested calling the next day.I tried their pies when we were in town, treasure hunting, and now I'm hooked on the white chocolate Strawberry 6 inch pie. Luckily, when I went in to pick them up, they had the cherry cherry custard pie. Usually, they are special order. To my surprise, they had 3 of them, so of course, I picked up 2 of the 6 inch ones.Last time, I didn't try their savory pie, so this time, I picked up dinner for grabbing 2 of the pot roast pot pies. You heard me pot roast pot pies 6 inch. The reason I keep stating 6 inch is because they do have 9 inch pies, too. They would go bad before I could eat them, so I enjoy the 6-inch pies. Also, they have quiche as well. I'll let you know how the pot roast pot pie is when I eat it. Did I mention they ship as well. Big shout to the owner for having such fabulous sweet & savory pies for single people.Don't miss out if you're driving thru Columbia, Missouri. At the big green competitor across town you can always tell that the espresso is not changed properly and comes off dirty or ashy in taste. “Wow, absolutely love this coffee/eatery! Roasting coffee beans fills the air with an intoxicating aroma, Lakota is warm, inviting and intimate all at once. A perfect place to start your day or study in quiet and respectful atmosphere. Always staffed with knowledgeable and thoughtful people and the ownership is reflected by that. I bring their coffee and travel chemex anytime I leave Missouri lol. This place sets the tone of Columbia and sets the bar for the rest of the coffee snobs out there. “First off, this is an amazing spot for brunch. Their biscuits & gravy is my fav! They specialize in helping people with allergies with being able to enjoy food again, which isn't a big deal to most, but for those affected, this is HUGE! If you are lucky and don't have this issue like myself, you'll still enjoy the food as Head Chef/Owner, Anna, has spent years perfecting her recipes to mirror the flavors of standard foods. Best of all, the prices aren't out of line with standard cafés, which makes the decision to support this local small business that much easier!“
