I recently visited this establishment with my kids, eager for a fun karaoke night. Unfortunately, what transpired turned a family outing into an utterly disheartening experience.
Upon arriving, we were greeted by a bouncer who, to their credit, was diligently checking IDs at the door. After getting past that initial checkpoint, we felt excited to enjoy the evening ahead. My group and I had just come from a nearby bar, and we had our drinks in hand—a common practice in most establishments. However, as soon as we approached the bar to order new drinks, we were met with an unfathomable response.
Instead of a warm welcome, the staff immediately demanded we leave because we brought our drinks with us. We made every effort to comply. We even offered to dispose of our drinks or to buy new ones right after, but rather than showing any understanding or flexibility, they insisted we exit without hesitation.
Despite our kindness and willingness to cooperate, they continued to chase us away, dismissing our polite attempts to resolve the issue. The entire situation felt unprofessional and disheartening, especially when we were a group of nine simply attempting to enjoy a night out together. This establishment's management seems to lack the basic customer service skills needed to handle such scenarios. Instead of accommodating patrons, they chose to alienate us.
It baffles me that a business would rather chase away potential customers than have a simple conversation to find a solution. My family and I, along with our friends—who are also locals—are left deeply disappointed. We had hoped for a memorable night filled with laughter and karaoke, but instead, we are left disillusioned and frustrated.
In today’s world, where customer service can make or break an establishment, I can hardly comprehend the rationale behind this experience. I can confidently say that I, along with my kids and their friends, will never return to this bar. In fact, we will ensure that our negative experiences are shared far and wide. Save yourself the trouble; there are plenty of places out there that actually appreciate their customers.

Had a BLAST at karaoke last night. Eclectic dive bar and diverse clientele. Today, the morning after, everyone in our group raved about how nice and friendly the staff and patrons were. We weren’t sure about the tavern when we walked in. Within a few minutes, we were like “oh, yeah, this place is vibing.” People seemed to know each other, while also being welcoming to our family of 12. Thank you, Eastside Tavern, for the fun memory.

Karaoke was average at best. Couldn't hear yourself singing. No monitors. Only 8 singers but had to wait over 2 hours to sing

My experience is a one off, this place is normally a very relaxing and safe vibe.

Some guys were heckling every guy that did karaoke and calling them “gay” and other derogatory terms. I told the DJ and he immediately invited them to leave/had them leave. They left and the next man that sang got to do so in peace. I appreciate that Eastside took my complaint seriously and that they asked the rude men to leave. Thank you!

My place in the karaoke line was skipped. It may be because Im Black. Two white boys sang multiple times before me. I tipped the DJ in cash and I was still overlooked.
