Food was yummy the first time I went .. tried to go back with friends again and were turned away as they were closing early. Something 10 years ago would of have never happened unless were out of food or had a major kitchen malfunction.
El Rey was fantastic. The workers were so kind and the owner, Leo, was extremely personable. The food was also amazing, better than the other restaurants in the area. It is also a great place to practice your spanish!
First of all, I wish I took pictures!! Second, We went here after the MU/KSU game and they were very understaffed and very much overwhelmed. We came to them with a party of 16 there were maybe three guys in floor waiting and the cooks were having to come out to help! They cleared a table for us, we sat down and we waited a long time… they brought our tower margarita and frozen strawberry and we waited still…then ordered.. and waited… and then got our food.
