I have loved Ernie’s for as long as I can remember. I worked there for many years until Tom bought the place. From the jump he ruined the place. But now he has gone too far…firing a 29 year veteran employee with no notice and no explanation. Never again. Way to destroy a Columbia institution.

I see myself as somewhat of a breakfast expert. This place is THE place to go in columbia Mo for breakfast. This just oozes 90s TV show diner with food you'd kill to jump in the show and try. This place makes it possible. Eggs, bacon, toast, and pancakes all 5/5 amazing. Service was perfect always attentive but not overbearing, we gave our waitress a 50% tip because she just nailed it. Atmosphere is where it's at though. I just love a classic diner over a fancy place with overpriced food. This place isn't over priced and just perfect. 100% recommended and best breakfast restaurant in Columbia Mo.

A diner. A great diner experience. Wonderful waitress. Food was out quickly. Prices were very affordable. We had to wait a bit, but the line moved quickly.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian sausage available to accompany traditional breakfast.

We came to Ernie's on a recommendation from our daughter and son-in-law. We can now recommend this place to others. The atmosphere is that of a diner from the 30's-40's which we just love. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food came to the table hot and very tasty within five minutes. I am a hash brown junkie and theirs are fantastic. Crispy and full of flavor. My wife loves a good Pancake and she absolutely loved what Ernie's made for her. This is an honest to goodness diner as a diner should be.

We stopped in looking for steak and eggs and decided to stay and try KC Strip with eggs. The owner slices his own steaks so you get a great cut every time. The waitress Amy was very kind and informative. I had my elderly aunt with me and the staff was so nice to her. Lots of pictures for home town feel. Excellent coffee. Wonderful personal experience. Loved it like fast kid loves cake.

I found this cute diner a couple years back. I don’t live in columbia so I like to visit when I drive though. The place is still cute as ever but the food was very disappointing this time. Everything was over salted. I really couldn't eat my food at the amount of salt. Other than that the staff is always so friendly!
