Gumby's Pizza - Columbia, MO
I was working in Columbia last week when a few coworkers suggested we stop by Gumby's Pizza for lunch. Located downtown near the Mizzou campus, Gumby's is a well-known local spot that's popular with students and residents alike. As with most downtown areas, parking can be a bit of a challenge, so plan accordingly.
At first glance, the restaurant looks small from the outside, but once you step inside, you'll find it surprisingly spacious. When you walk in, you're greeted by specials posted throughout the entrance area. We arrived right around noon and, to our surprise, we were the only group dining at that time.
Orders are placed at the counter, where we were helped by a woman who was absolutely fantastic--friendly, patient, and accommodating, especially considering that several people in our group were visiting for the first time. After ordering, you can choose to sit at a booth, high-top table, or at the bar. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, with TVs throughout, a music machine, and even a pool table for entertainment. Since I'm currently following a fasting diet and skip breakfast and lunch, I ordered my meal to go so I could enjoy it for dinner. Having had plenty of pizza the night before at Shakespeare's, I decided to switch things up. I went with a pound of boneless wings--half buffalo, half mango habanero--and added a side of beef toasted ravioli. One of our local coworkers also ordered the XL cheese bread for the table, and I can confidently say, based on both this visit and past experiences, it's easily in my top three for cheese bread anywhere. Everyone in our group was happy with their food, from the pizzas to the other menu items.
Overall, Gumby's is a spot l'll continue to visit whenever I'm in Columbia. Great service, solid food, and a laid-back vibe make it a go-to for a casual meal downtown.

Love Gumby's. Tried to use a coupon and had some difficulty in the website. They fixed it right away! Good is pretty good. Pokey stixs are my favorite :)

I had to call because our order had not been delivered after 1.5 hrs. I got disconnected twice. The first person I spoke with was very pleasant and tried to help by checking the status of the order then on my 2nd call offering to put the order in then offering to get the manager to give a refund since we had other plans and no time to wait another hour. The 3rd time I called back and explained I had been hung up on twice, “the manager” argued with me stating that I had only called once according to their call log. He also refused to offer a refund because their system showed the order was delivered. I did raise my voice in frustration and repeated that I had indeed been hung up on twice and that we did not get the order. “The manager” then hung up on me. My husband called back twice from my phone then again from his phone and all calls went straight to an outgoing message so can only assume they screened the calls when they saw our area code was the same. We are out $80 for the order we didn’t receive, another $80 for the food we had to get elsewhere and we were late to a concert because we had to find other food. Oh, and I emailed the address listed on the FB page and have yet to receive a reply. Horrible customer service!

I have never sat inside Gumby's so I'm not sure about the atmosphere. We love Gumby's they have great pizza. Customer service is always GREAT!
