The shrimp czarina was so delicious that it actually induced labor for my wife. Not even kidding. Our baby was born a day later.

I had a long day at work today and i left with my central nervous system screaming and going wacky. I was not feeling good today i was on edge. But then. Oh then. My lovely fiance said hey let’s get some Jazz. And BOY OH BOY they had oysters in there.

Now I go to jazz all the time. Literally my favorite restaurant in the city. But something about this time was different……it was…..beautiful….when the charbroiled oysters came to our table i almost shed a tear. I wish oysters were cheaper because i could easily eat thirty of those guys.

Got my crawfish etouffee and felt a joy that can only be compared to the feeling of a christmas eve around the fireplace. It is such a cozy food. With little crawfish tails swimmin around. I could sob just thinking about it.

I went into jazz feeling like my nervous system was going to pop out of my body and make a loud screeching sound as it did so. I left jazz feeling like i got shot with a tranquilizer dart but like in a good way. I was calm. Those oysters cured my ailment. The etouffee cleansed me of my worries. Jazz made me feel like i got SEDATED it was so good and made my day so much better.

I once was lost but now i am found…….was blind but now i eat (oysters). I LOVE YOU JAZZ <3

Portions are so tiny! We did order carryout- was given the option for half or full menu items and I chose full. We were charged for full menu items. $22 for chicken alamer= 2 chicken strips ontop of very little rice, cold with a hint of cinnamon/nutmeg on everything- a strange sweetness- did not care for it. Alligator bite meal- zero seasoning, looks good but only the flavor of cornmeal. Hushpuppies had a piece of wood in it? Maybe part of a toothpick idk- they are sweet not onion flavored so just wasn't very good it was around $24 for meal. Beer battered shrimp meal' $16- came with a very small portion of fries like a dozen literally- and for an upcharge! Instead of the slaw?! Shrimp was so soggy and again zero seasoning not even salt on anything. The side salads- which was simply romain lettuce with parm on it and was the best part of our meal- ranch is absolutely phenomenal!! Yes its the GREAT kind of ranch! Perhaps eating this type of food is only best in person? The reviews sounded amazing- we were so excited to try but after spending around $75 for 3 meals that were unappealing in almost every way really sucks! The food was ready on time, the staff was nice on the phone and welcoming in person during pick up, maybe they had a different cook and the real chef was sick because this was a total waste of money.

Since it was in a mall I didn't have high expectations. I was wrong. My wife and daughter's meals were excellent. I had the crawfish po boy. It was okay. The fry oil tasted like it had burnt and probably over cooked. Eying other people's food and how good my wife and daughter's meals were I think I was just unlucky and have full intentions to go back when in Columbia again.

The blackened chicken fettuccine was fantastic! Just the right amount of kick. My husband was less thrilled with his crawfish but his hish puppies were amazing. Service was super fast and friendly. Sadly the band was setting up as we were leaving otherwise the atmosphere would probably have been 5 stars too! Will for sure go back.

Hadn't been to Jazz in quite some time but I recently chose this restaurant for dinner and drinks with my husband and friends. I will admit I was so hungry that EVERYTHING on the menu looked good. We had appetizers (charbroiled oysters and voodoo crawfish tails) and they were delicious. My entree' (blackened tilapia with rice and vegetables) was also very good and quite a large portion. Now, the drinks were superb and we tried several while listening to the live band. Our server was very attentive. I will not wait so long next time to go back to Jazz!

The last two times we ate here were the last times we will eat here (thought to try again—-mistake). Don’t order anything “crab.” Baguette is Walmart quality and they’re skimpy with it. Nothing worth what you’ll pay there. Get a gumbo to go.
