Inspector cites Columbia restaurant for using wrong sink for food prep

A Columbia restaurant was cited for preparing food in the wrong kind of sink in an inspection conducted in the past week.
Routine restaurant inspections happen two to three times per year based on priority and location of Columbia restaurants, Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services previously has said. Follow-up inspections happen if a critical violation is found. Restaurants usually can correct noncritical violations by the next routine inspection. Reports are from Feb. 3 through Monday, Feb. 9, unless otherwise noted.
Feb 4, 2026, I ate there we spent $ 61.61 and Feb 9, 2026, all long has been and do not need to hide where their doing and remove the tarp.
I AM GROSSED OUT AND MY FRIENDS LOVE THIS PLACE SPENT OVER $ 65 / PER NIGHT COMING. I FIRST READ IT ON GOOGLE.
Prep your fish in where in germs sink and not prepare on the table, this is the 1st of cutting corners.

I visited this place recently and ended up waiting about 40 minutes for my food, while several customers who ordered after me were served first. Very disappointing
Took an hour to get our food with barely any customers in the restaurant. We put in a to go order after we ate our food and that took over 40 minutes as well. Im not sure what type of system they are running back there but it needs to be fixed. This is not the first time this has happened to my partner and I so we will not be coming back.

Love Sushi is hands down one of the best dining experiences around. The quality of the food is exceptional, everything is fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. You can really tell they take pride in what they serve.
The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and the owners go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Their hospitality truly sets this place apart and makes every visit feel special.
The atmosphere is perfect; warm, inviting, and comfortable whether you're there for a casual meal or a special night out. If you’re looking for amazing sushi and a place that treats you like family, Love Sushi is it.

Very good authentic Japanese food. The staff even remembers my regular order even if I don’t go in a month. Timely, good cost and it all tastes good. The takoyaki was a bit burnt though. Otherwise perfect

food is not so great, just a lot of it. If you have a big table(table of 3 different families all paying separate), they auto add 20% gratuity even though they never refilled our water or asked if we needed anything. Probably won't go back.

Much nicer, and larger portions than at the Jefferson City location.
The service was excellent too.

Food was good, but they cut the sashimi too thin… they say 21 pieces but it’s more like 1/3 of that because they are cut so thin.

I usually don't give out less than 5 stars to places I like but this experience was a little different. Came in for a dinner with my boss, and reserved seating beforehand. Unfortunately due to the server's confusion we lost our seat! Taking some stars off of service due to this experience. It was a little annoying because my boss is an important man, and I really don't like ruining his experience like that. Additionally I found the servers to be a little too nosy considering the small seating area!
The katsu was pretty good tho, unlike other places they use chicken thighs instead of breast pieces which is just not my personal preference, but still enjoyed every bite!

Bento box worst value you can get. It looks like a kids meal, not even 1oz of chicken, 1/4 cup rice, 2 small pieces of sushi, 3 pieces of fried vegetables, and 1/2 leaf of lettuce for a salad. Not worth $14. Don’t go there if you are hungry. Sushi is really good, but also you need to order a lot.

Tried 6 rolls... Stadium Roll, Spicy Crab roll, Philadelphia Special roll, I Love Tuna roll, Mizzou Tiger roll, and Doo Be Doo roll. all very, very good. Hot sake brought to the table as quickly as ordered. Staff was super friendly, even though we walked in 30 minutes until closing. Prices were what good Sushi should be, not cheap. I would give more stars if available.
