The atmosphere is nice. The food was so overpriced and the food wasn't even great. Biscuits were dry and they couldn't get overmedium eggs right after 2 tries. First ones looked more scrambled, 2nd batch had yolks bit looked like 1 and a half eggs and messy. $17 PLUS $5 for a small gravy. . Also if you want jam that's a upcharge. .i don't recommend. The grits were good and only good part of meal. Sausage was lukewarm
I am editing. I dont know how to respond to the owner so will add my thoughts here in reguards to what the owner stated. okay great local and fresh is great.
I should have received perfect eggs since it's supposed to be a culinary experience. instead when it was addressed it didn't matter that I had sloppy, thrown eggs on my plate. Believe me, you're restaurant is overpriced. it shouldn't take a expert to make a decent egg. Any other restaurant would have had gravy included for that price! I don't know what temperature you expect food to be, or what you're preference is but I doubt lukewarm would be exceptable again for a culinary experience. As a paying customer me not being 100% happy didnt matter but now it does? that's not how it should work.
The flat iron steak was not tough with a very tasty seasoned crust. Great brunch place. Biscuit and gravy very good.
This is a hard one, but overall I would say it's a nice place with 95% of the food being fantastic, but that bad 5% is a bit of a doozy.
I had a spell of about 2 years where I every biscuit (several) I got from their truck was rock hard or dry. Infact, I was able to spike one into the parking lot at the farmers market and it remained intact after bouncing 10 feet up off the pavement.
That said, everything but their biscuits have consistently been top quality and what I would consider among the best in Columbia. All of this is crazy considering they call them selves a biscuit company, and made it very difficult for me to write a review. Today, I finally got a good biscuit and feel like I can finally give them a fair review.
The biscuit bar is well decorated and clean and it was very nice to sit on the patio. The server was very polite, but he and the kitchen were both extremely slow despite it not being too busy (30+ mins for our food to come out ). The fruit waffles and mocha coffee were fantastic, and the biscuit in the biscuits and gravy were pretty good. The prices are pretty high, and the portions aren't the biggest, but for the most part the quality (besides sometimes the biscuits) is always worth it. I hope they have figured out their biscuit game, and think if they can remain consistent with them they could easily be considered one of the best restaurants in Columbia.
We ordered some food to-go to enjoy next door, and while the food itself was mostly great, the service left something to be desired. The smash burger was excellent, and the creamy mac n cheese was rich and flavorful. The buffalo wings were a nice size and perfectly sauced, and the biscuit breakfast sandwich was also solid. However, the home fries were under-seasoned and fell a bit flat.
One downside worth noting: they charge extra for ranch, even when ordering buffalo wings—which feels a bit off for a place serving wings.
Shrimp and grits out of this world great service full bar!!
Food was excellent, worth the wait

We went for a late lunch after MU graduation. We were seated much quicker than they told us which was a plus. The food was pretty good but just didn’t do it for what we payed. I feel like it would be a better breakfast/brunch location than a lunch/supper location as they seemed to be geared around breakfast foods and biscuits as expected.

$13 for fried green tomatoes is crazy, are we living in Cali that after two year you can add a V for vegan and jump the price by $4. Lower that price.
The biscuits and gravy was good but BARELY warm!
