Randy's Frozen Custard

Not the very best, but really darn good.

We have been patronizing this business for 18 years but we will no longer do so after Randy screamed at my spouse in front of me and our child for trying to clarify an order at the drive-thru window today. Rude, uncalled for, and unprofessional.

I used to recommend Randy’s over Andy’s, but never again.

Good custard, and reasonably priced compared to competitors.

Ice cream was great however the customer service needs some work.

We walked up and saw the sign on the window that they were not excepting walk ups and to go through the drive thru. Ok cool not a problem but also really nice that they have their menu hanging up with ALL their flavors so our 6 and 10 year old can read it and decide what they want before we go to the drive up and hold that up deciding.

While standing there another couple walked up so my husband and daughter walked to the other menu so everyone could see. While reading and talking to my daughter about what she wanted some guy throws the window open, startles my husband and daughter, yells at them that there is a sign saying walk up is closed and they need to go to the drive thru and slammed the window shut.

Some advice, if you don’t want people reading the menu, cover it. If you don’t want to be able to see people standing there reading the menu, cover the window more. Uncalled for to yell at customers. At no point did any of us knock on the window, or yell at anyone, or try to get anyone’s attention. Zero reason to be a jerk. If our kids didn’t have their heart set on eating there we would have left. The girl at the drive up window was nice enough but didn’t make up for the rude guy.

I love Randy’s ice cream. Unfortunately, the last time we went, the person in front of us ordered then they put a sign on the door that they weren’t serving walk ups anymore and shut the door in our faces without even acknowledging we were there. We went back to try to talk to them and they ignored us again. I messaged them privately to try to resolve the poor customer service but they didn’t even offer an apology - basically said message received. I’m super sad to have been treated like this and that my 5 and 3 year old were treated like this. I understand being busy. I will never understand disrespecting and ignoring your customers.

before my stepmom died this is one of the few things/places that still brought her joy. I grew up getting to come here for good tests scores, concerts, graduations, and eventually just to spend time with her smiling. the only thing I want more than a mint concrete with cookie dough right now is to get to hug her one more time. I live elsewhere now so I can’t go as frequently, but any time I go back to columbia I try to make sure to get some. I really wish I could have randy’s right now, it knocks ted drewe’s out of the water.

first time trying Randy’s and it’s AMAZING!! I got the Abominable Snowman but they have countless concrete options and everything else ice cream related you could ever dream about. They even do pupcups for cats! I also thought it was really cool they give temperature color changing spoons with the order.

Update: I went back about a week later at about 7:30pm. There is a clear difference between day and night shift here. I’m not one for negative reviews but if you’re curious, just look at what other folks had to say. If you want the best Randy’s experience I’d recommend stopping by during the day!

went here last night. staff ignored me and unplugged the phone when i tried to call. they close at 10 and i came at 9 and the staff was attempting to hide under the table. i went through the drive thru and no one spoke to me. drove up to the window and saw the kids inside sitting under the table. i tried to call to get their attention and they unplugged the phone

do not come here. i came at 9pm friday when they close at 10. i came through the drive thru and waited and said hello. i thought maybe it wasn’t working so i drove to the window and saw a girl and a boy, or maybe a girl that looked like a man, sitting under the tables inside on their phones. after seeing this i tried to call them, they didn’t answer and i watched them unplug the phone. it’s now saturday i called around 6pm looking to speak to a manager about friday night and no answer after i called like 6 times. horrible service. just go to andy’s. i can’t believe those people got paid to sit and hide. i will never return here again. absolutely ridiculous. i might add that there were like 4 signs everywhere saying they close at 10pm.

My friend and I showed up at 9:35 when they close at 10 on Fridays. we went through the drive thru and no one came over the intercom so we decided to go to the walk up window. We get to the window at 9:40 and we saw 2 girls inside, then as we are standing at the window waiting to be greeted we see them both grab their stuff and leave. We saw them get in their cars right beside the building and I asked if they are closed and they say yes. It says on their window and online that they close at 10. I tried to clarify the closing time with her and she shut her car door as I was taking. Seems that they just left 20 mins early. Very disappointed.
