Closing in solidarity with Minnesota! I don’t drink coffee, but it sounds like I should start here at Shortwave 👊🏼
Near campus, downtown, fun atmosphere supplying fluid and audio energy to its customers. Pleasant staff were welcoming, would definitely come back.if I was a student I'd spend too much money here as a go to study spot.

Staff was really kind and patient while I decided what I wanted to order. They had my drink out really quick. It was nice and quiet so I could focus on getting some work done.

Had to stop in because they were recommended to me and so glad I did! Love that it’s a women produced coffee shop and the coffee is pretty delicious too. I had an autumn special iced latte with almond milk. If I didn’t live out of state I’d be a regular!

while the coffee and atmosphere were pretty great, the barista wasn’t very inviting. the service was kinda slow like the other comments mentioned, but we also ordered to stay, so that wasn’t an issue for us specifically. the barista’s demeanor probably would deter me from coming in again. he barely spoke and when he did it was short, and he didn’t acknowledge as we went in or smile back when we would smile in gratitude, he seemed annoyed :/

So just passing through Columbia, wanted an Expresso, looked at reviews and picked Shortwaves. I decided on a Latte, it was excellent. Coffee is first and foremost at this place so if you're looking for coffee, this is your place.

The only place I've ever found an unsweet lavender latte. (And I have done some traveling :). The baristas are always so very kind. Wonderful atmosphere!
I was so excited to try some coffee here and buy some coffee to take home this Monday. The atmosphere is great, but the service wasn’t much to brag about. The barista was very short and almost seemed annoyed with my excitement to be there. The coffee was absolutely incredible, however the service did leave a slightly bad taste in my mouth. If I’m ever in the area I would definitely try it out again since the coffee was so good, but if all their staff is snobby and curt I don’t think I would go back again after that.

Chai? Bussing. Cookie? Bussing. Barista had the sass levels of snookie during a reunion episode—felt like I was being personally humbled. Would I return? Yes. Do I fear them a little? Also yes.

Cool space located inside an alley. Not a strong sense of urgency with the service, which works if you’re not in a hurry.

It’s explicably unpleasant staff. The coffee was fine and it’s totally normal to sweeten coffee with a variety of sweeteners. I’m a honey person. Added honey when picking up my drink, used a spoon to stir it in - also a totally normal coffee-preparing activity. The staff person lost their mind, screaming at me, ‘give me that spoon!’ I quickly acquiesced the spoon to them so they could officiously and loudly with great disgust throw it in a bus tub. Apparently, well-stirred honey is of great umbrage in the ‘no soup for you!’ vein. It never occurred to me using a standard utensil in a standard manner could be so problematic. I apologize for sweetening and stirring my coffee in your coffee shop. However, not enjoying being screamed at, I am hesitant to return.
