I drove all the way from Jefferson City to Columbia specifically to bring my kids here, only to arrive and find the doors locked — despite their Open sign being on and a Facebook post made the SAME DAY advertising family-friendly arcade games until 5pm.
There was no notice posted, no update on their page, and no warning whatsoever. After messaging them, I was told they were “short staffed” and wouldn’t open until 4pm. That would’ve been fine if they had bothered to communicate that before people wasted gas, time, and energy driving out — especially families with kids.
What made this worse was the complete lack of accountability or urgency. No apology beyond a generic response, no attempt to make it right, and no concern that I was sitting there with a car full of disappointed kids.
If you’re going to advertise events and promote being open, you need to actually be open — or at the very least update your customers. This was careless, frustrating, and incredibly unprofessional.
We won’t be back, and I strongly suggest others confirm they’re actually open before making the trip, because their social media and reality clearly don’t match.

Spectacular bar tender Aubrey made our visit perfection. The atmosphere is inviting and the amenities are deliberately craft for a magnificent time.

Silver Ball Bar has completely leveled up since the new ownership took over!

It’s honestly become one of my favorite spots in town. Whether you’re bringing family to play games or just want a fun night out with friends, there’s something for everyone. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is awesome, and there are always great deals and events happening. It’s so much more than just a bar — it’s a full experience that feels like the heart of downtown fun again. Highly recommend stopping by and checking it out!

I came in, spent $20 on a card to play pinball. None of the tables worked. Every single table had faulty buttons for the paddles.

I returned the $20 card and left.

This establishment took my $20 and provided zero service.

It is not worth playing here. The games are broken and the staff does not give a shit.

Zero star review. Do not come here

*** EDIT ***

As a pinball bar.. they have four tables. Keep this in mind.

If you have digital currency, go to Tokyo a few miles north. At least they have pinball machine techs coming in weekly and maintaining the tables. It is a real league location and has easily forty tables. With over 85% being functional.

I always have a great time when I visit this place. The bartenders are always friendly and eager to chat with me. I usually order the Pac-Man Punch, but they’re great at suggesting other drinks. The last time I was there, I tipped the bartender with a shot of Pink Whitney.

This is not a barcade. Maybe I missed a backroom or something, hardly any arcade games or pinball. Very disappointed

It seems like the place was better the way it was from before than now, the drink seemed to be more expensive.

I didn't go but I like the way games are made and looking for rhem

Vegetarian options: Alcohol is vegetarian but I am not so I can't have it

Dietary restrictions: Alcoholism is an allergy or a disease for 500 alex

Kid-friendliness: I don't know they don't seem that nice unless they're asking for something or running scams for their teachers

I am the grand champion of the basketball game... Sooo no big deal...

The drinks are okay, wish there was more selection on local drafts.

I went on a Friday night, it was a super fun place to go to with friends. It wasn't super busy either and no lines for any of the games!

Went into to play pinball.
There were a lot less pinball machines than web shows in pictures. The pins were in good shape and played well. I enjoyed a few games of James Bond Dr. No by Stern which was enjoyable and the video game Halo.

The site has paid street parking.

The facility felt a bit cave like which made it feel dingy.

The drinks are good. They could be a little stronger. All in all, it's a good place to hang out.
