We ate at this place 2 years ago, was delicious! Recently went back, totally different, everything was different. The food, brisket sandwich was not very tender , very bland. I was going to salt my fries, salt shaker was so dirty on top. How simple is it to clean off the table, including salt & pepper shakers and the bottles of bbq sauces, especially when it wasn’t even busy on a Saturday evening at 5:00. Bathroom was not clean either. This place is not even very big. Really sad because it is a cute diner and right off main highway. Needs bunches of changes, needless to say won’t be returning.

One of the only bbq joints open on a Sunday. Not necessarily KC bbq, but good enough to scratch the itch. I recommend the ribs and pulled pork. Good size and good meat density. Chicken was a bit dry and brisket was cut too thin.

A nice little find as we traveled from KC to The Lake. Enjoyed both the pulled pork and brisket sandwiches. The fries were a perfect combination of crispy and creamy.

Food was mediocre at best. Brisket was too salty, you get 4 whole pieces with their $19 platter. I have honestly had better barbecue from just about everywhere else in Kansas City. Additionally we had a gift card they couldn’t use because it wasn’t transferred to the new system. Seems a bit fishy. I would go to Casey’s for pizza before this place for BBQ.

We were driving through Missouri, looking for somewhere to eat and saw a sign that says Dempsey‘s barbecue, we were greeted by our waitress Phoenix, who gave us her outstanding service and gave her recommendations on what to eat. We ordered a a platter with a full rack of ribs, mac & cheese, and coleslaw and another platter with brisket and robs, mac & cheese as well and baked beans. We were pleasantly shocked when we saw the sheer size of the full rack of ribs not only is it an amazing value for what it cost, but the flavor was spectacular. They had a perfect amount of smoke. They were tender and juicy and also when Phoenix recommended the sweet barbecue sauce that took it to the next level , thank you to Dempsey‘s barbecue for an awesome experience great food and an awesome environment and thank you you Phoenix for your amazing service. Hope to be back here again soon just for the food!

Tried a little bit of the menu. Pretty spacious inside we weren't to close to our neighbors. We had no idea what to order so it took us some time to look over the menu, our server Phonex was awesome! She was super friendly and patient with us. Even recommended we try the fries with burnt ends and they did not disappoint! Perfect place to sit and chat for hours while you enjoy some good ol BBQ!

The fries tasted like old oil was used,smoky taste and not warm on the cool side. Found a piece of foil in the pulled pork sandwich, service was good but the food was not as great as in years past. Was there a change in management?
