Lunch was unimpressive - BBQ was tough and overdone. Suaces and sixes were good though
though. Beer selection was good and whiskey selection was outstanding however. Service was great too.

First of all, where’s your signage on N showing where you are? That’s almost a hazard! We dropped in without a res and got seated right away and was blessed with a very sweet and attentive server Alex (she’s a keeper).
We shared the 16oz Ribeye and it was cooked to perfection! Alex was instrumental on that because my husband likes his rare and I like it medium rare. She presented that to the kitchen and it was spot on!!! The garlic mash was good but the Brussel Sprouts were yucky. They were not cooked very well and the bacon or pancetta had a gamy taste I could not eat it.
We both had Manhattans and I have to have “the good cherries”. This is the first place we have been to who gives you just one cherry in your drink and Alex stated there would be an additional charge for extra cherries. Ok I’ll pay extra for them but at least provide Luxardo Cherries, not what we got which appeared to be dehydrated Maraschinos. Thank you

We went to cottle village for New Year’s Eve dinner last night and left a little disappointed. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The server came and explained the menu selections and then didn’t return for drink orders for 20 minutes. We were understanding as it was a busy evening. We ordered our drinks and our menu selections. And then we waited. An hour later the manager stopped by to refill our waters. We still didn’t have our drinks so I asked if he could check on them. He returned and said our drinks were up next and they had a lot of big parties in front of us. An hour and 20 minutes after our reservation time we finally received our drinks. The server didn’t come back during that wait at all. Finally our appetizers arrived and were very tasty. The second course was a lobster bisque with puff pastry on top. The soup was delicious, but under the pastry the bowl was literally only 1/3 full. And it wasn’t a one off as there were 4 of us and all had a minuscule amount of soup in our bowls. If I’m paying $15 for a bowl of soup I expect it to be full. The main course was good. I got the halibut which was a touch overcooked and needed salt and the others at my table got the steak which was very much over salted. We all agreed the best thing on both dishes was the mashed potatoes. For dessert there were two selections - the flourless chocolate cake and a berry shortcake soaked in champagne. The cake was delicious, but the shortcake was served in a plastic wine glass with a plastic spoon that was reminiscent of cafeteria food. It tasted ok, but certainly wasn’t memorable. Overall, I wasn’t particularly disappointed in the taste of the meal and the manager did comp our first drinks, but I wasn’t overly impressed with the experience. Not once did the server acknowledge our wait or apologize for it. For the price (over $400 after the drinks were comped) I would have expected more.

Restaurantji Recommends
Special New Year's Eve dinner was amazing. Four courses with perfect wine pairings. The team at Cottle Village knows how to please.
We dined here for dinner on 12/26. The restaurant was still decorated for Christmas and was beautiful. This was our first time eating here for dinner, although we had attended their Sunday brunch prior. I ordered the filet medium and it came out a little over cooked; however, Kylie insisted on having the kitchen correct it and remake the steak. Josh, the manager, brought the steak back out and made sure it was prepared and temped properly. Overall, the staff went above and beyond to correct the issue. My husband and I were thoroughly impressed with their customer service. We will happily recommend the Tavern to our friends and return for dinner soon.

We were able to get last minute reservations that are a must typically. People were dressed casual as well as nice. Outside eating and social areas with patio heaters and fire places. There were groups of 10 as well as couples enjoying this beautiful place.

Food was great! They need to work on proper signs on were to go/actually enter place. Also thought I had booked for brunch but apparently I didn't, that was error on my part. (On Sundays only) We ordered a Bloody Mary, it was just plain mix and blah. They need to work on that and the fixings! Good for the bourbon and whiskey lovers though, fyi. Very cute atmosphere, worth a try!
