“We have lived in High Ridge for 15 years now and had tried Que Pasa occasionally through-out the years and while the food was usually good, it was not good enough to get us coming back for more. After Covid we decided to give it another try and were very pleased with our meals. The service is always prompt and friendly (Waitress Tracy is the absolute best. Such a sweetie!!) We thoroughly enjoyed both dishes as well as the margaritas. I was a big fan of the Strawberry Basil Margarita. We had good service, even with a group of 6 of us. The restaurant has a cute vibe, and I'm excited for the patio to open up because it looks like a great place for a patio happy hour. The Quesadilla Fiesta is moist and full with sour cream on the side. Also they serve the tortilla chips n salsa. Salsa is good but a tad spicy. The Chicken Quesadilla is on the dry side so be sure to order sour cream or queso to moisten it up a bit. You will need to request utensils before you leave as it is not a standard item in your to go bag. I eat there about 2-4 times a month, so very good experience!Parking: I am handicapped and sometimes non handicapped people park there to be close to door. So if using a wheelchair, walker or cane, you may be in for a longer walk so that is unfortunate.“
“I was in town for the tenth anniversary of the nearby brewery called Side Project. As I was drinking a lot of strong beers over the weekend, I needed food pit stops to break it up. I love mexican food and spicy food. I'm from Europe and unfortunately the mexican food here on the whole is pretty weak. I came here twice and it hit the spot both times. Packed full of flavour, with fresh Ingredients and hot sauces for you to add however much you want. The taco wraps were also very tasty and tasted authentic. “Visited twice, dishes we've had so far: The deep fried red snapper, burrito, chicken empanadas, mole (very good!), tacos, and guacamole. In general, the dishes are tasty. We really enjoyed the red snapper and mole, unique from the typical "mexican" fare in St. Louis (mushy stuff covered in slimy cheese). The mole sauce and tacos are flavorful, the rest of the dishes are well presented, generous portions, and fresh ingredients, maybe a bit on the bland side. The red and green salsas that come with the chips are fresh--the first time we had them, they had more spicy kick and stronger flavor, the second visit they were dialed down--each batch must come out a little different. They make their own margarita sour--it's delicious!! Has a hint of ginger, comes in 2 jar sizes, large and larger! The space is kinda like a diner/neighborhood bar & grille--it's spacious and clean. Highly recommended! I hope they expand their traditional dishes and offer more vegetarian options. Also, some extra hot choices for us spice addicts.“

“Hidden gem! Despite being hidden in a rather boring strip mall Cowbron truly stands out as a great Mexican restaurant. It's a relatively new spot, and as I mentioned it's pretty unknown, so don't expect to wait long for a table. I personally have eaten here about 5-6 times and have yet to wait for a table on a Thursday or Friday night. Don't be fooled, they are amazing but quite off the map in terms of nearby restaurants, which is how I account for their low wait times. The food is great! The fajitas are large portions, enough for two to split after a couple baskets of chips and queso, and they have THE BEST CARNITAS I have ever had in my entire life. As a former chef I can definitely speak to this as carnitas are a dish that take time and thoughtfulness to be done great, both of which are evident once you've tried the tender meat on offer here. As a regular to Mariachis II and La Catrina I can tell you that this place has earned a spot in my top 3 favorite Mexican joints in the city. Go to Cowbron!“

“A humble establishment offering the taste of Mexico at its most authentic. Environment: when you walk into the restaurant, it feels like you're entering the Esparza family home. There's nothing fancy about this restaurant, but when you're eating authentic Mexican food, you don't need that type of ambience at all. There are several tables set up for parties of 2 and 4, and a small bar in the back that's mixing up margaritas and more. You order at the counter and then grab a seat wherever there's an open spot. You're given a basket of chips and there's a salsa bar near the back where you can self serve among 4 different types of delicious salsa. We will know that the chips are on the crunchier side, they aren't thin, Cantina style like you would find at other restaurants. Once you're done with your meal, you come up to the bar table to pay your tab. The family of this restaurant are some of the kindest and most authentic people I've met, and they deserve all the praise for the heart and soul they've put into this restaurant. Food/Drink: to eat, we got one plate of three cheese, enchiladas and one plate of two chicken enchiladas and a chile relleno. Plates are served with rice and beans. This food was extremely fresh and spectacular-- the most authentic we've had in St. Louis and one leaves you extremely satisfied but that makes you wish you had more. The enchiladas are cooked to have a crispy exterior and come with a deep and full bodied sauce, a combo that makes them super crave-able. we will say that the enchiladas were a little bit dry, but if you add some of the salsa from the bar on top, it fixes everything. The chile relleno what's the perfect balance of rich, salty, fresh, and crispy... exactly what a chile relleno should be. It was true highlight of our meal. With regards to the salsa, they have a bar with four to choose from-- all of heat/spiciness. All are homemade, fresh, and authentic... unlike any other Mexican restaurant in the city. Options are: hot tomatillo with chile de Arbol, medium traditional, hot smokey, and mild smokey. The hot tomatillo with chile de Arbol was our favorite, but the traditional was also light and refreshing with a small kick at the end. The margaritas here are an absolute star as well. We highly recommend getting the Lily special Margarita. It comes in three flavors-- we got the amaretto flavor and kahula flavor. The first one is more on the sweeter side, and the Kahlua flavor is less sweet and has some notes of cacao. Highly highly highly recommend with your meal. They made fresh at the bar and have a nice foam on top that adds something special to the margarita that we've never had before. Rating: 4.5/5, truly one of the most authentic restaurants we've been to that delivers immensely on the food. We took off points for the confusing ordering scheme and the slightly dry enchiladas, but that really should not distract you from coming to this restaurant. We will most definitely be back sooner rather than later. We found a new favorite Mexican restaurant in the city! We recommend coming early, this restaurant fills up very quickly! You might have a longer wait time for your food the later you come!“

They play fun music, and the outdoor area is sort of romantic. There is a rooftop patio type of thing. When it's cold, they have heaters. It's just overall a fun little place. I can imagine sunbathing during lunch on the patio during the summer or stopping in for a bowl or soup in the winter. My only complaint is their parking lot is very small. You'll likely have to park on the street because the place seems to be very popular. I enjoyed it so much that I might become a regular. Go check it out!“
