The past couple times we have eaten here, we noticed the price of one of our entrees on our bill was higher than listed on the menu (both online & in-house). Food and drinks were delicious. Atmosphere/lighting was dark. Service started off well but ended with a lack of attention.
Ive traveled around the US for burgers. Cobalt easily has the best burger in St Louis.

Interesting decor and lighting. After that it was all downhill. Not enough waitstaff to handle drinks, food service, requests, getting the bill and finally paying. The place was too loud with no sound dampening so SHOUTING was the only way to communicate. A total disappointment and does not deserve hype.
One of the best places to enjoy a rotational menu and spend a special moment with that most important person in your life. Leslie has made it warm and inviting foe the last three years. Eric always eith a warm smile and a splendid story about the new food and drink menu. You won't regret making the time for this lovely experience.

It was our anniversary dinner. And it could not have been better. The service was great. The ambience was perfect. And the food and cocktails were even better. This is our first time visiting and it will not be our last time. We look forward to going back just so we could try more appetizers and entrées.
Food was wonderful, service great. The noise level was high, we were with a couple of older folks who found it hard to participate in the conversation. As it got later in the evening it was better but will be a consideration for the future
We made a last minute early reservation for 5:45. We were welcomed immediately upon our arrival and seated in the bar area at one of the tables. Our server came and took our drink orders which were perfectly balanced (we both had the gray whale negroni) so kudos to the bartender. My husband had the hamachi crude and I ordered the autumn salad. Both were absolutely delicious and we would repeat our choices, for sure. For our main I had the Chilean sea bass and my husband chose the steak frites. Again, our choices were delicious. Everything was perfectly cooked and the presentation was impressive. As for the ambiance, it was very enjoyable. Welcoming, beautiful decor, active but not noisy. We will return!
The food was great. Had the Chilean sea bass and it was outstanding.

Went here for my wife's birthday as it's a favorite of hers and also mine. Nice atmosphere and the food, service and drinks were great. Thanks!
Chilean Sea Bass was cooked perfectly on top of mashed potatoes with brussel sprouts. Absolutely Devine. My hubby ordered steak and frites. Well the frites was little to be desired. I didn't even realize they were supposed to be shoestring fries. It looked more like a topping and decorative accent for the steak NOT a side dish. For the price, should be better. Truffle fries would be an excellent pairing. He did say however the steak was perfectly cooked and tasted excellent.

Everything was absolutely wonderful. Loved the food. Waiter was excellent and ambience was really cool. Unfortunately their beer tap was not working so we didn't get to try any of the unusual beer. We will come again!
While our service, crab cake & salads were good, our entrees were lack luster for sure. Very overpriced for what you get in the cuisine. Would probably not return.
It was our first time at Cobalt Smoke & Sea, and it was a great experience! We were celebrating our anniversary, and our server, Haven, gave us free champagne to celebrate. Haven took great care of us. The menu is concise, which I appreciated, but the options look tasty, making it hard to decide. We ordered the Duck Fat Burger and the Halibut dish; both were exceptional. We will definitely be back!
Like that the menu changes every season and they are being creative with their dishes. Everything we ate was delicious and our server Heaven was fun and friendly.
Two girlfriends went in on a Thursday for happy hour. First time for both of us. Nice vibe inside with cool decor. We were there during the day, but I imagine the lighting at night is dramatic. Blue cobalt glasses on all the tables, of course. We sat at the bar and enjoyed glasses of wine...half off during happy hour. Great value as they have a decent wine list. We enjoyed the sliders and the crab cakes off the happy hour menu. Both delicious. Our bartender was attentive and friendly. A new dinner menu launched the day we were there. Lots of nice options worthy of a return to try.
