20260610 Stopped by today and Debbie was amazing! I should have ordered ahead... next time. She accommodated me and got me everything I wanted to get. She was so friendly and helpful. Next year, when I come out, I will definitely order ahead. They make the cake throughout the day, whuch means they are fresh when I bought them, which is what I need since I need them to stay fresh for at least 4 days before they will see the fridge. I also bought ziplock bags and put them all in ziplock after checking into my hotel in IN.
20260609 I am planning on shopping here before I leave town tomorrow. I decided to stop here three day before to taste test the gooey butter cake. Such a cute store! They have more flavors in the individual size. I got the regular, white chocolate raspberry, key lime, and blueberry individual size. 4 totaled almost $18 included tax. I only tried the key lime and it is so good! The individual size is perfect but expensive for what it contains. I wish they were sealed for freshness. Bring some ziplock bags address you are traveling. I'm glad I did! They also have chocolate chip, birthday cake, and lemon when I got there right before closing.
They have several flavors. We got the regular butter cake. They have tuxedo, snicker doodle and blueberry, chocolate Chippewa.
Some small brownie sized ones are also available.

Gooey Louie is fantastic! We ordered ~55 individual gooey butter cakes with the St. Louis flag on them for welcome bags for our wedding. They were an absolute hit with all the out-of-town guests and a fun introduction to St. Louis. Management at this location was very kind and communicative. We were late to order and they still managed to turn it around in just a couple days.
Highly recommend!

First time going to this place, I have always passed it, but today I decided to go in and try
it out. Iβm so glad I did, as soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted with a big smile, the woman in the shop explained everything to me about the different flavors etc. I ended up buying 3 gooey butter cookies, they were Delicious , Fresh, Soft and Just Truly Amazing , I will definitely be returning to buy more !!!!!

My family and I took a road trip to St. Louis and knew we had to get a gooey butter cake, and what an absolute delight! I didn't get the baker's name, but we had a lovely chat about Chicago (where I was visiting from), they gave us a great barbecue recommendation, and they offered my little one a sticker that he proudly wore the rest of our trip! The cake was fresh and ABSOLUTELY HEAVENLY! Thanks for the warmth and whimsy, y'all π

Stopped in today while visiting from out of town and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The owner was absolutely adorable and so kind β you can tell she genuinely loves what she does and takes pride in the bakery.
We tried several gooey butter cakes and they were incredible. Perfectly gooey, rich without being overly sweet, and clearly made fresh. The mini cakes are such a great idea so you can try different flavors.
If youβre in St. Louis and want to try a true local dessert, this place is a must. Great cakes, great atmosphere, and one of the sweetest owners youβll meet.
Wow, I'm surprised that this place isn't rated a bit higher! I knew I had to try some Gooey butter cake while in St. Louis, and being fairly close to the zoo, City Museum, arch, etc. made Gooey Louie a perfect place to stop by to grab some on my day in the area. What I was not prepared for was how many interesting varieties/flavors there would be to choose from! Fortunately the person working there was super friendly, patient, and helpful as I (indecisively as always) narrowed it down to about a handful or so that intrigued me the most. Even more fortunately, every single one of them turned out to be absolutely delicious!! Add to that the adorable atmosphere of the shop itself, and for me, this was a no-brainer five-star stop and definitely one which I will revisit next time I'm in the area! Thanks for the delicious memories, and I can't wait to try a few new flavors next time around! <3 :D

Was visiting St. Louis and had to try some. This shop is absolutely adorable and Debbie was one of the bubbliest, most cheerful workers I've ever encountered! They have cakes large enough to share and mini ones for people like me who just wanted a small treat. They even have cookies that taste very similar to the cakes. I hope those doors stay open for a very long time.

I know STL folx will be hurt where the sun don't shine. But selling sugary pale roux and calling it something else is sketchy.
