Massa's Ellisville/Ballwin

My favorite St. Louis Italian restaurant 40 years running. Really miss their Kirkwood location, but willing to travel to Ballwin because it's that good. Their Italian salad is the best in the business and their toasted ravioli are the right level of crispy and soft. The pizza, lasagna, cannelloni, and beef Pepe are my favorite items.

Provel cheese on everything and our bread was stale and the butter was cold. Very dark and noisy.

We love everything about Massa’s Ballwin. The waitstaff is amazing, Kevin is fun and friendly, the food is always delicious, and the atmosphere is just right. We eat there almost once a week.

I am the server you have referenced in your 2 reviews and letter that you chose to mail to the owners of the restaurant. I'm sorry you feel that you were overcharged, but I ask you to kindly check your math again, sir. I have been an employee of Massa's for close to 30 years and have never, EVER been accused of such. Your bill that evening was $83.09 and you left $16.91 as a tip (thank you for the 20% BTW) but that would make the total $100.00 sir, not the $97.00 you had written down. You are not only disparaging me by posting things that are not true but also the restaurant. So again, I encourage you to check your addition before posting another false review. If after reading this and looking at the math you still feel wronged, I'll gladly mail you the $3.00.

I have not yet tried having our meal inside the restaurant yet, however, we have ordered take out many times. The entree servings are huge, delicious, and great for splitting one with another person. Or, order one for each person and have those leftovers ready to go!

Food and service were excellent.

Massa's is a great little Italian gem. All the dishes I've had here are great and very large portions. It's a small restaurant and fills up quickly as soon as they open at four in the afternoon. The service is fast and friendly. The only negative on the atmosphere is that it's very dark inside and can take your eyes a few minutes to adjust when you first walk in from a sunny day outside. Once you're in and enjoying your meal and drinks, you don't think about it anymore.

We had dinner there this evening and had a wonderful server. My husband orders the seafood pasta every time. It is his favorite and the serving is so large. The salads with their house dressing are my favorite.

Clowns. I left over a 20% tip and these guys still rounded up the charge on my credit card after the fact. Very deceitful. Meal was on 12/21/2024.

Really good pasta and really great service. Would recommend to anyone that loves pasta.
