I can’t wait for West County Lanes to reopen. That house is one of the most unique bowling centers in St. Louis. I competed in bowling tournaments there when I was in high school, so it holds a lot of great memories for me. I’m very much looking forward to its return and getting back on those lanes.
west county lanes is the absolute best! we've spent every New Years day there for the last 15 yrs. our kids birthday, fun family dates!! the arcade and staff are incredible, great prices and always super clean and the food is also yummy!!
The shoes and floor are too slippery to bowl with (even after wiping my shoes). The ball is too slippery and the lane has too much oil on it
My 3 friends and I went to this place for a fun birthday day. When we went up to the counter to get our shoes, the lady was incredibly rude and seemed to be annoyed that we even bothered coming here. When we started to bowl, it was really fun. None of us had experience in bowling so we naturally had the bumpers up, mind you- the employees never stated to us that it was 10 and under nor on the website. When we got into our third game, the lady rudely came over and yelled at us saying that we aren’t 10 and under so we couldn’t have the bumpers. This is kinda crazy to hear since there was a 10 year old who broke it not even a few minutes ago. That completely ruined the fun and experience, we just went through our game and left. We also had gotten 8 mini corn dogs, and after 30 minutes we still didn’t have them nor was our number called. I took the receipt up to the counter and asked, they simply had just forgot about our food when it wasn’t even busy. They were just standing around talking. Really annoying tbh. I sat down at an empty table to watch my friend bowl and the lady comes over and yells at my friend and I that she was cleaning the table. I was simply sitting in the chair, no arms or nothing on the table. The bowling balls we’re also so extremely greasy, it fell out of my hand and went backwards when I tried to throw it.
Definitely don’t come here if you want your experience and fun sucked away because of the terrible customer service.
Me and my small group of friends (4 people) decided to come here as a small birthday event. It was a pretty rude interaction from even just reservation; when trying to reserve through a phone call, the worker tersely responded telling us to do it on the website. No hello, no apologies, no hint of customer service. Then we get to the place and, of course, no greeting and no acknowledgement. When we try to start the conversation, she rudely tells us to wait. The man next to her helping us pay for the shoes was friendly, unfortunately that was the only interaction we had with him. Of course, we put our shoes on and choose our balls, but the lane still hasn’t opened. We were there early, so we waited for our official time, still not open. We had to go back up there and ask the lady to open it. Then we finally get to bowl. None of us have had much experience bowling and none of us are very good, so, naturally, we put bumpers on so they aren’t all gutter balls. Nothing said we couldn’t do this—nothing on the website when we made a reservation and nothing on the screen with the setting for it—however, on our third game, the same rude lady comes and tells us to turn them off, only 10 and under. After asking why, she says that someone had already broken the gutter (which is ironic, because it was a 10yr old was the one to break it. Later, another gutter broke from a child). If only that were it, but, unfortunately, there’s more. There’s not a lot of room between tables, and the one next to us was empty, so we sat just in the front seat of the table so we can all watch the game. Of course, the same lady comes and starts cleaning specifically THAT table and tells us, “ladies, I’m trying to clean,” in her signature rude tone. We were just using the chair, not the table. We keep playing and decided to get a snack—mini corn dogs. We wait half an hour to get it, and still nothing (the bowling alley also hasn’t been busy at all, so this was weird). We go up and ask, and, turns out, it had been done; no one decided it’d be a good idea to call our number. The food was okay, but the batter was hard and tasted off to me. that’s bowling alley food I guess so I can’t complain too much about that. Happy birthday to my friend, wish it wasn’t ruined by one lady’s constant attitude and lack of communication. Now I get that it could’ve been a bad day for her, but when your job is in a place specifically made for parties and making good memories, maybe put on a fake customer service attitude on just like everyone else has to.
TLDR: one rude lady working refused to communicate in a respectful way and ruined the experience. If you need/want bumpers above the age of 10, don’t bother visiting here.
Wouldn’t let me bowl cause I’m a shoe size 20 for “insurance reasons” kinda bs
The best new pinball machines, best prices and best place to hang out. Great old school arcade. Friendly staff that makes you feel welcome. They also have really good organic pickels and honey for sale at the snack bar.
I took my boys (2 and 4 years)
Bowling for the first time here and the staff was amazing! From the food counter to the regular checkin counter everyone who worked here was so incredibly kind and patient with us as we learned how to bowl! They were so accommodating by offering a smaller bowling balls and a ramp! The food we ordered was hot and fresh also! Definitely recommend this place!! We were wowed by their service and attention to detail!
Your arcade is not good. the air hockey took 2 dollars and the speedracer game took 1 dollar?
Most rude employees ever. We wanted to switch lanes due to the feel of our lane being tilted and they didn’t let us despite that there was nobody here or lanes that were reserved. Then she scolds us for going half a second early on our turns. Besides service the bowling balls are extremely greasy compared to other bowling alleys and half the balls don’t even have a size number.

Snappy and rude staff member ?
For being in west county you would think that they could afford to turn the A/C on. The fans were on low, so there was very little air movement. Very uncomfortable bowling conditions... I would never recommend bowling this location to anyone.
It's not even worth 1 star
me and my family wanted bumpers because we werent doing to well, so we clicked on it and it wasnt giving us the bumpers. We went up to the front desk and they said they have to put it in manually for our lane. And apparently you have to be 8 years old and under to have bumpers. Pretty stupid, wouldn’t recommend. All the bowling balls were also greasy and oily so it was hard to even throw.
Great bowling
A great place to vote on election day! I was particularly impressed with how cheerful and friendly the election officials were. Thanks for the great job they all are doing!
