Jambalaya was amazing 😍. Shrimp and grits also top tier!

Yesterday 6/1/25 I ordered $93 worth of food. The appearance was good. The food smelled delicious. I previously read reviews and decided to try it out. The sides I received were the mac n cheese, yams and turkey greens. Omg...mac n cheese had good flavor but was dry. In one container the mac n cheese looked like it was the last remains from the pan. The yams had good intentions of being great but failed with the slightly hard potatoes and the not all the way simmered residue of the citrus after taste. The juice was even runny and very thin. The turkey greens were a little under cooked but had a good heat but lacked seasoning. The turkey was good and tender but slightly Bland as well. I also got soul rolls...the sauce was a very vinegary for me. The roll was great with everything blended but soggy. The chicken wings were supposed to be fried crispy well done. That was a negative. I hate that wet piece when pulling the wings apart. It was obvious it was not well done although the coating had a nice crunch. The crawfish effouette was fishy...the flavor was there....just fishy. The rice could have been cooked longer. Ok...the smothered porkchop was a lump of fried meat with gravy. Smh with the presentation. I didn't even try it I let be reviewed through my husband. It gave the overall appearance of rushed cooking. I was a little disappointed. I am hoping I picked a bad time as it was Sunday around 7pm and I did a pick up. I will give it another try in hopes that this was a fluke. The staff didn't want to be there and it showed through conversation and the pick up encounter. I wanted to see about the desserts but omg...smh let me not bother y'all and ask for anything else. Lol

My husband I had a really good experience at this restaurant today. Derrick was our server and did a great job. The food was delicious but my only concern was the portion size. Other than that this restaurant got it going. Keep up the good work

Wonderful food and plenty of it. Prompt, courteous service plus real liquor in your drinks. Live band on weekends and a rewards program that adds up to restaurant cash fast.
We; hubby, cousin, daughter, have eaten there 4 times within one week. Did I say at age 65 I choose to nolonger cook... 😉

I've been following this restaurant since they opened and was very excited to meet a friend here for dinner. Nothing special from the outside. When you first walk in there is a pick up window and some fridge cases and that area is also just regular, but the restaurant side is decorated beautifully with a selfie wall and a New Orleans vibe. It feels cozy.

We ordered fried green tomatoes to start. They were cooked to perfection, though we didn't love the sauce. The menu has so many good items on it I had trouble deciding but I love shrimp n grits and ultimately ordered that. I did ask about the sauce on top - if I could get it on the side - as sometimes I don't love a sauce. They said no, but they did assure me it was not a tomato based sauce, it was their special sauce. Friend got the catfish with yams and mac n cheese.
Both dishes came out looking delish. Unfortunately I did not love the shrimp n grits - the sauce was fine (which btw is only on the top so no idea why it couldn't be on the side), but the dish was so salty I couldn't eat it... I took a few bites hoping it would improve, but it didn't. Had friend try it in case it was just me, she couldn't eat it either... sad bc those grits has a perfect texture :( Friends catfish was AMAZING, would def order again, but the mac n cheese wasn't good. Dry, grainy and lacking flavor.

The service was mediocre. The waitress did take our order and answered a few questions, but she didn't seem like she wanted to be there. No smiles or welcoming atmosphere.

We waited to order for over 20mins. Then I try to get the heavy set female attention and she looks at her watch. Everyone starts cleaning up and then at 8:42 the young girl states that they stop taking orders at 8:45pm. I tell her it's not 8:45 yet and rhe guys in the back yells that they already turned off the fryers.

I placed a large order for Mothers Day and was not disappointed! My family and I were truly pleased with everything ordered. Thank you Ms Yvette for your professionalism in handling the refund for a missed item. I am putting you on speed dial for my next event. Sorry we did not take pics!!!

Food is spectacular! Hubby had jambalaya, & I had crawfish etouffee with yams. Both were super yummy and filling. Such a fun atmosphere with Mardi Gras decor. Very friendly staff.

I kept seeing this restaurant pop up on Door Dash so today (May 4, 2025) I decided to take an uber from my hotel to the restaurant to dine in. It was not what I’ve expected. The food was mediocre. Turkey Leg and Cornbread were the two best things on our plates. If they switch out regular butter to honey butter, the cornbread muffin would really be good! Yams wasn’t cooked all the way through. Mac and cheese was dry due to it being over baked. Collards greens were lacking turkey and seasoning. It was also cold. They also need to cut up the collards a little bit more. Meatloaf wasn’t firm enough. Maybe it was lacking breadcrumbs? Didn’t like the gravy on it. So I scraped it off and put ketchup on it. Which helped it tasted a little bit better. The Deviled Eggs was lacking flavor. It was really bland.

As far as the service from our server, Yasmine it was horrible! We waited awhile before she took our order. The restaurant wasn’t packed so I’m not sure why we had to wait as long as we did. It was no sense of urgency. When she finally came to our table, she never smiled nor gave any suggestions from the menu especially since this was our first time visiting the restaurant. She kept forgetting things. Which caused our cornbread and deviled eggs to come out later than our food. She never apologized or checked on us to ask if the food was ok or if we needed a refill on our drinks. Nor did she let us know how long we had to wait for our cornbread and deviled eggs. She sat at the bar and was more focused on what was on her phone than the service she provided for us. This was far worst service that I’ve received from a server and I really didn’t want to leave her tip. However, since I’m in the hospitality industry and a person who also works for their tips, I felt obligated to leave something. She lucky I have a heart because most people wouldn’t have left her nothing due to the service that was provided. Oh the only time she did smile it was when we were walking out the door. Which looked like was more of a “smile of relief” because she can finally chill and play on her phone without any “distractions” (My boyfriend and I were the last to to leave)

As far as the restaurant, it is decorated nicely. The music that was playing from someone’s playlist was also good. I sang almost every song that was playing. That was really the highlight of my experience. I really felt like I’ve wasted a $100. I probably was better off going to a casino and putting my money in a slot machine. At least my odds of “winning” probably would’ve been a bit little better.

Also.. By me being a bartender, in order for me to want cocktail from a bar, the bar has to look appealing. From the looks of the bar, I would like to see a better variety. It didn’t enough of different types of spirits or liqueurs that would attract people and make them want to indulge in a cocktail. For the bar to be as small as it is.. please make it stand out to attract your consumers to want a drink or two!

I did see the restaurant also have a few item on the brunch menu that appeared appealing, but what I’ve experienced today.. I may not be back. I rarely write any reviews about any establishments. The last time I’ve wrote a review was years ago so that alone should speak volumes.

I went two days ago ordered take out. Fish dinner 24.00 baked chicken 19.00 with one extra side 6.00-they forgot sides for both dinners I ordered but the worst part was the fish could’ve been fried a little longer. I ordered baked chicken for me and the chicken was white. I was scared to eat it. I’ve been to this place a lot in the last year and food quality is decreasing.

I brought my family here from out of town and they forgot my brothers food completely. We shared food with him during the wait so when they finally brought it out we had them pack it to go. They made us pay the bill and only gave 5.00 off. This visit the grease was old. We ordered so many fried chicken dinners that visit. We still tipped our waitress very well because she was amazing! Jah something was her name she had pretty burgundy hair!

So with my visit from two days ago I’m really disappointed that they would serve food that’s not done. AND TO BE SUPER EXPENSIVE IS INSANE!!! I never minded paying but each time the food is getting worse. When I showed the young lady my chicken she dropped her jaw then asked a young man (looked like a teen- curly fro) “ why’d you plate her food like that” and he didn’t say anything. He looked anywhere between 12-14.

I visited this place on a whim.. Unfortunately it was a major disappointment. I ordered the grilled jerk chicken with greens and yams. Let me start with the chicken.. It was baked not grilled. It was also dry and drenched in a jerk sauce to mask the deficiency of the chicken itself. It was hard to tell if the chicken was seasoned for this reason it was so dry I could not finish it. The jerk sauce was underwhelming as well for various reasons to much to explain.. But I will say this Jerk is about spice and flavor the sauce was overbearing in from the spice aspect and lacking in flavor. The greens were saturated in salt.. The best part of the meal was the candied yams and the service of James. To the owners I am not slandering your product but you have to do better. I am giving my honest opinion based my experience and your flavor profiles. If there was a flavor balance and a good cook on the chicken with a light sauce instead of drenching it. It would be a better presentation and flavor profile.
Be blessed.

The shrimp 🍤 and grits are impeccable. Your granny taught you this recipe. I will be back.
