From the moment I walked into this place I knew it was going to be a favorite. The woman who greeted me at the front was very friendly and had a beautiful smile. She promptly sat me down and brought me my water. The food was fresh and they prepared it right away. Even though the restaurant was packed the food came out relatively fast. I ordered the pho with meatballs and beef. It was the best pho I have ever tried. I plan on coming here as often as I can. The owner and the staff as well as the food get 5 stars. A must try if you like Vietnamese food.

Very very good food. I have been in Missouri 2 years and have yet to find a good Vietnamese restaurant. When in KC, definitely come and eat here.

This is the best restaurant I've been to in Kansas City. It can be pretty busy in there, so I almost wish it was a well-kept secret, but hey, they deserve the business they're getting. Everything on the menu is delicious. The service people are genuine and friendly. There's no other restaurant so well-conceived and with such a delicious and diverse menu. This is the essential Vietnamese restaurant in the Northland.

This just might be my next GO to spot for Viet food. I love the fact there's a huge selection on their menu. This looks to be a classic staple of Vietnamese street food but in a restaurant setting, and I can appreciate the pricing reflects it. I dare say that they do have the best bahn mi sandwiches in town because of their special toasted baguettes, I'm really feeling the nice crunch of the crust while the bread on the inside is still soft. It was super busy on a Sunday afternoon for lunchtime, and there was a decent line. The hostess / owner is very efficient at getting the line through and guests into tables / boothes. Their plating and quantity are just the right amount. Not too much or not enough. I've been searching for what they call here a Donut bahn mi (which is delicious) for several years now that I've only been able to find at another local Vietnamese restaurant that has since been sold and is under new ownership. I don't often go to a new Viet restaurant usually and not try their pho (for me) that is how I usually rank them. Since I was only doing take out I'll have to go again for a sit-down and have their pho. This place can easily accommodate parties of 20+ comfortably if you called ahead. I had to wait approximately 25 - 30 minutes for my decent size order so I can understand the wait as the restaurant was at full capacity. As of now I'll give it 4.5 🌟 out of 5 🌟

Update: Went back for pho and fried tempura shrimp & sweet potatoes. I wasn't wowed by the pho but the broth is beefy and will fill that craving. Dine in service is quick, I was in and out in 30 mins. As another reviewer said, they really shine here on their sandwiches.

Wonderful experience. Food was stellar. The wonton broth was refreshing, warm, and comforting. It was clean and free of grease.

The service was very kind and prompt. Our kid spilled water twice before we even ordered, and they were quick and accommodating.

We also ordered their famous noodle basket with shrimp and pork. Delicious.

Definitely would love to come back when we are in the area!

A gem of KC. You can’t go wrong with any of the restaurants in the Gladstone’s Little Saigon plaza, but Broken Rice stands out. Their pho, bun bo hue, and bahn mi (that bread..) really stand out. Friendly and efficient service too. Do yourself a favor and stop in.
