Broken Rice & Pho Restaurant Com Tam Viet

This is our favorite pho restaurant in KC!! The food is phenomenal! We recommend the sliced pork Banh Mi (take out the jalapeños if you don’t want spicy), combination pho, and the best sparkling limeade we’ve ever had. The service is great; sometimes they’re packed and it can take a second to be served. We can tell the staff are deeply committed to good service. Also has a cute photo op corner!

We might have set our expectations too high.
The broth lacked depth, and there was an overwhelming smell of meat in every dish.
Even the bánh mì had a good baguette, but the portion was small, and again, the meat had an unpleasant odor.
I’ve had countless bowls of pho before, but this was the most disappointing experiences.
We came based on a friend’s recommendation and strong Google reviews, but if this is considered top-tier pho on the mainland U.S., it’s honestly a bit disappointing.

Best and most authentic Viet food in Kansas city! Too bad it’s so far north but it is worth the drive. They actually have good Bo Luc Lac which is my favorite Vietnamese dish.

I’ve visited this restaurant a few times in the past and used to really enjoy it. However, on my recent visit, I noticed some changes that were disappointing. The prices have gone up quite a bit, while the portion sizes seem noticeably smaller. My boyfriend ordered a special vermicelli, and the noodles were chopped into small pieces as if prepared for a child, which took away from the overall experience. Also, the service wasn’t as friendly as before; the lady at the front came across as a bit rude.

Whoa momma! If I had two stomachs, I'd gladly eat it all over again. This was hands down one of the best Vietnamese meals I've ever had. I'd never tried Vietnamese beef stew with pho noodles before, but now it's a new favorite, imagine pho taking a delightful stroll with an Irish stew, and you're close.

The portion of beef was generous, melt-in-your-mouth tender, soaking in a beautifully seasoned broth infused with lemongrass, basil, cilantro, lime, jalapeño, and perfectly cooked carrots. Each spoonful was a masterclass in balance and depth of flavor.

What truly set it off was the side of salt and pepper with chili and lime, a brilliant little dip that lit up the beef and tied the whole dish together. And let's talk about that baguette: the warm, crispy crust giving way to a pillowy soft center was nothing short of bread perfection. Forget the debate on crunchy vs. soft; this was exactly right.

The ambience of the restaurant was inviting was spotlessly clean with a simple elegance and the service was both professional and lightning fast. I left planning my next visit before I even hit the door.

Anytime I'm in from Oklahoma, this spot is officially on my must-eat list. Can't wait to explore more of their authentic Vietnamese dishes. If you're anywhere near this place, do yourself a favor and go, your taste buds will thank you!

Love this place, however im a bit disappointed because I come here often and the bahn mi was significantly smaller this time but priced the same. You can tell by the size compared to the paper it comes in.
