there isn’t a single thing that I don’t absolutely love about this place. the service is always great, I am always greeted at the door with a smile and my order (always the same) is always remembered which makes me feel so welcome. I never have to wait for a drink refill and they never forget anything I ask for on the first run. the staff is very kind and sweet, the place is beyond clean and always kept immaculate. my favorite dining place in all of Kansas City.

The food is good. You can make some really good sauces as well if you know how to mix asian ingredients. Depending on what you mix, the sauce can be heavenly

This was our first time having a Hot pot and what an experience! Lotus Hot Pot & Grill gave us a great experience with awesome customer service and amazing food. I had the Spicy House special broth and my husband had the herbal. We shared the seafood combo and the vegetable combo. So much food for great prices and with our dietary needs we were both were satisfied and full.

This place is AMAZING! Clean, helpful attentive staff, and more food than I could eat. What a great experience, and thoroughly enjoyed my solo dinner.

Wait staff was extremely friendly. They were very busy but would stop by and get you whatever you needed. Kept the table clear of unneeded dishes. Will be happy to go back whatever back in KC

After our first visit to Lotus we will definitely be back! The owners took their time to explain the menu to us and how to order. We ordered the kimchi broth with a veggie platter and seafood and it was phenomenal!

I can’t say enough great things about Lotus Hot Pot! I’d never had hot pot before and the owners were so friendly and kind. The food was incredible! Easily my new favorite place in Gladstone. Thank you so much for a perfect, delicious dinner. 🌹🌹🌹

Very vegan friendly. Sauce bar is outstanding, we got the mushroom hot pot broth with lots of veggies, mushrooms and tofu. So happy to see tofu skin and Woodear mushrooms on the menu! It was so GOOD. New regulars for sure! The service was great, had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to go back!

This is one of the best dining experiences I've had in the Kansas City area. The sauce bar is delicious and full of fresh sauces and garnishes, the menu is extensive yet manageable, and doing both hot pot and Korean barbecue really added to the enjoyment. Service was helpful and friendly, and I am really rooting for this place

The House Special Spicy broth was great but skip it if you don’t eat anything above mild. The menu has lots of options to customize your hotpot. The vegetables and meats were all very fresh. Between two people, we ordered a Meat Combo Small, Enoki Mushroom, Korean Ramen, Napa Cabbage, Potato, Quail Eggs, and Lotus Root. Be sure to have some fun creating a dip at the sauce bar. For appetizers, the Spring Rolls and Fried Dumplings were okay. The service was lacking, possibly because only one person was handling all the tables. Check your receipts, as I didn’t notice we were double taxed until after we had left.

I rarely leave reviews, but after our experience here I felt like I should share. My family and I visited here for a special dinner, but unfortunately the service we received was so disappointing. Our servers were rude, inattentive, and lacked basic hospitality. From the moment we arrived they seemed irritated by our presence. We did not feel welcome, and were instead constantly rushed and met with impatient attitudes. One of the servers, spilled an entire tray of water onto our table soaking several members of our party. We gave her grace because accidents happen, but she was completely dismissive and unapologetic. They didn’t bring enough silverware or bowls, so we repeatedly had to ask for basic dining essentials. Our servers made a rude comment along the lines of “Do you have any more questions or is that it? Because I’m not going to be able to get your food.” One of the servers slammed a hot plate down and oil splattered on a member of our group, burning her arm. One of our family members pulled the server aside and politely addressed the poor service we’d been receiving. No accountability, instead she responds with “Well, you guys didn’t have a problem until it was time to pay.”
The service overshadowed the food, which was actually decent. This was some of the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered.

Food was delicious. Service was absolutely terrible. Drinks were spilled on 2 members of our party right when we got there. No big deal. Accidents happen. But the attitude from both people working throughout the rest of the meal was just awful. Any time we asked for anything like extra silverware, refills, etc. it was like the biggest inconvenience for them. We asked for our grill plate to be replaced and they slammed the new one in which splattered hot oil on another member of our group. When we said something at the end of our meal she said “you didn’t mention anything until the end”. The disrespect seemed only targeted at our table. I observed both of them acting totally different toward another table. We have eaten here once before and the experience was fine so not sure if we caught them on a bad night. We love to support small businesses, however, we will not be back.
