Nasty food, nasty restaurant and weird employees. I couldn't even finish a plate of food it was so nasty. Floors are greasy feeling and just overall not a good place. I can't believe the quality of food people in hannibal consider to be good. Sad.

JUST DON'T. GO to the Friday - Saturday steak & shrimp. Picture a nice jumbo shrimp. Now, picture it sliced in 1/4 inch slices. Picture a pressed steak with fake grill marks setting on a grid over steam, with a plastic lid over it. A baked potato brown inside from being reheated too many times. $18 each. No, just NO on so, so many levels.

Would be a 5 star or more if products of food wise was worth the money, $15 to $60 for cold food and have to request new batch of mash potatoes, ridiculous, sorry but not sorry. All these "restaurants" to try to take your family out to treat them for very poor results.

New Town Reviews

The food is very poorly thrown together not even made to look like someone cared while cooking it almost looks to resemble school food or jail or prison food the price is outrageous the menus say one thing they serve another thing the time of hours is subject to change when ever they decide to do so if you are coming from out of town don't plan on having time to eat and don't plan on taking a to go container cause you can only have a little bitty container to put the litte bit the expect should be left on your plate to go home with you it used to be a nice place but it is pretty trashy now and not worth the money what so ever

We are from out of town, and when we asked about a place to sit down and eat this was one of two suggested. We thought this was a delis ious place to eat.. everything we tried. The staff was very nice and friendly plus attentive. Some of their names are: Candice, Sally, Kim , The cooks were Frank and Diane.
Thank you for being here. Very nice.

My family lives in Quincy- 30 minutes from Hannibal. We only have one Asian buffet in our town and wanted to try a new buffet while visiting Hannibal on a recent weekend. Unfortunately, Saints Avenue Buffet just fell short for us.

The establishment was clean and well maintained with ample seating. It was well-staffed and although the woman refilling our drinks was very nice, the lady at the main counter was a bit grumpy. We can easily overlook service; price and food quality are the way to win our family over.

For 2 adults and 1 6-year-old child our total was $50, before a tip, for dinner hours. This is quite pricey compared to Best Buffet in our hometown, but perhaps the food selection would justify the cost? Unfortunately, no, the food selection was not worth the price paid.

There is a salad bar with fresh veggies and pasta salads (this area, in my opinion, was decent quality). Then there is a taco bar with ground beef, nacho cheese, and watery beans; this area was not high quality- with minimal topping options and the beans were visibly unappealing to the degree that no one in my family used the taco bar at all. And then there's the main bar which had meat choices including fried chicken, meat loaf, ham, and mystery meat chunks (I think pork?). The sides were what had me most disappointed. There was probably 20 sides total- but included in the choices were canned green beans, canned corn, and boiled unseasoned cabbage- all very cheap, low quality items that I hope *not* to find at a buffet. They did have decent mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, and bread rolls. The rice casseroles (there were 2) were also good.

The dessert selection was decent with mini pies, brownies, and ice cream available.

My biggest complaint is that the cost did not justify the low quality of food. Replace the canned and boiled veggies with fresh cooked veggies that are well-seasoned. Update the taco bar with nicely cooked refried beans and shredded chicken breast as well as the ground beef. Maybe add in one "quality" meat each night; grilled chicken breast, salmon fillets, steak, etc.

Unfortunately, for price, we likely won't be back for dinner. Lunch prices appear to be a bit cheaper- so we may try again earlier in the day and I'll update my review accordingly if it's appropriate to do so. Right now, though, this place fell short of our expectations and wasn't what our family had hoped for.

Parking: There is a large private parking lot beside the building with ample space available.

Kid-friendliness: There are many kid-friendly food options; mac and cheese, fried chicken, rice casseroles, bread rolls, and soft serve ice cream come to mind immediately.
