Very good in all categories. The food itself was tasty and fresh. Good explanation was given if you asked about a menu item. The service was quick and they checked back the appropriate amount of times. The decor was not over done and it was spacious without overcrowding tables like some places similar I've been to. Over all I would recommend you go here even if you haven't tried Japanese before as they will help you with your choices. We had the shrimp bento box and loved it!

So glad they moved into a bigger place. Sushi was delicious and the sashimi tasted fresh. Crab rangoon and egg rolls were hot and packed full of flavor. The chicken hibachi was cooked ok, chicken very tender but was a little bit dry. Nothing that some sweet and sour sauce couldn't fix. Food was displayed very well. The sushi and sashimi plates were decorated beautifully and made you want to eat them. The foil pack was called temptation of fire, a sushi roll they light on fire and when it burns out then you can eat it. Definitely one of my favorite rolls to get. Rolls has a nice smoky flavor. Got a bottle of apple saki and it was very good! Tasted like apples, little sweet with a hint of sour. Our server was very on top of things even with it being a Friday night and very busy. Over all our experience here for my sons birthday was awesome. So glad we have such a nice sushi place closer to home and don't have to venture farther north towards Kansas City to get sushi. Loved when they had the small place, but now we love it even more. Definitely go back and go back often.

I've been to Peniku a few times and every time the food was great. Service is always good when I come in. Tonight my waitress was Hanna and I just have to brag on her. I dined alone so she didn't have to wait on me a ton, but she was fantastic. She was super friendly and had a smile the whole time while serving multiple tables. She's the type of waitress that would make me come back for more. A+!

It's tough rating a restaurant after only attending one time. Very kind service staff and a nice, clean atmosphere. We ordered sushi, it was just OK. To be fair, we are big sushi fans and have a pretty high bar for it.It appears that their food is loved because by 6, the dining areas were approaching half full. So that's great!Overall, a good experience, but I don't think we will be back if sushi is the main craving.The diet coke was spot on though!
