My husband and I had dinner here last night. It was a beautiful, intimate setting. Even though there were three other families and couples around, it still felt very romantic. The host, David, was very friendly. He is a one man show but he ran everything very smoothly. The food was AMAZING. I cannot put into words how good the food was. It was a 4 course meal and from start to finish every bite was mouth watering. Highly recommend the Vallet House if you are in the Hermann, MO area.Food & drinks: AMAZING

The Vallet house absolutely exceeded our expectations. We arrived early and were greeted by David, who got us drinks as we waited for the 5:30 seating. While we waited, he explained that he was a one man show- the "host", the chef, the waiter, the bartender, everything! We were unsure what to expect based on all of his responsibilities but he beyond delivered. I had the braised short rib with polenta and it is truly a meal I will dream about. I couldn't get over how delicious it was (as an aspiring chef myself), and started asking him questions after dinner. He was kind enough to take me back into his kitchen and explain his process and give me a peak behind the curtain into his magic! It was an unforgettable meal and an unforgettable experience. Not a single meal we had the rest of the weekend in Hermann could even compare (seriously, every single restaurant in the town should take notes from this man). Absolutely put this place on your list when visiting!

While I didn’t stay at the gasthouse, my man and I went for a dinner at the Valley House. It was the best dinner either of us had in our entire lives. David is attentive, passionate, and enthusiastic about the experience he provides his guests and goes above and beyond any dinner experience I have ever had! We will definitely be back!

This restaurant is under new management and is very nice. The host was very attentive to every detail and we had a great experience. Four course meal with a choice of three entrees. My wife had the scallops which she loved. I opted for the KC Strip which was okay.
We thoroughly enjoyed this four course meal! David provided great wine recommendations and spent a lot of time with the guests which was a great part of the experience.

My husband, mother in law, and I dined at The Vallet House on a Saturday night and had a wonderful experience. David is an excellent host and cook. The dining room is recently remodeled. It is a very comfy and inviting space. We had a delicious dinner of potato and cauliflower soup, truffle and sundried tomato pasta, filet with asparagus, and blackberry cream pie. The wine list is great and caters to many tastes and price points. One note is that they are still working on signage so don't be surprised when your GPS tells you to pull off the main road, and it seems like you are in the wrong place. There is a photo of the house on Google, and it helped us realize we were at the restaurant. Overall, it was a lovely experience. I highly recommend dining at The Vallet House when in Hermann.

We had the most wonderful surprise adventure tonight in Herman, as John and I are here for the wine and chocolate festival this weekend. We took a chance ane ate at the Vallet House. It's in the old Alpenhorn Gasthaus location, is reservation only and is a fixed menu. Open only on Friday at Saturday night's at this point. .The new owner David was a wonderful host, John's scallops were fresh and delicious, and my filet was cooked to perfection. I am usually not a port fan but the house port was really special, and David took the time to share why it was so special. Will definitely be back to see how it evolves.
