Downtown Deli & Custard Shoppe

Super disappointed in our visit today. They put rotten lettuce on my sandwich.. I wish they would have said they were out.. My friend got tuna salad. It was dry bland no taste and the mushrooms were the same.. im not one to complain about food.. but everything was not good

We showed up 15 minutes before close and the staff was super friendly and gracious. The food and ice cream was really good, and the staff was helpful and friendly. Absolutely enjoyed eating here.

First time dining here & will definitely be back! Delicious cheeseburger and onion rings!! The Turtle Sundae is 10X better than Culver's and DQ put together!! Out of all the places I've dined at in Hermann, Downtown Deli and Custurd was the BEST all the way around! Great food, great atmosphere, great service, and you can't beat the prices either!

It's okay, basic food menu with burgers, salads and sandwiches. The homemade chips were nice. Ice cream is just okay.

After a super disappointing wait at another restaurant for dinner, we ventured over to Downtown Deli and it was delicious! Nashville Hot burger and a hearty vegetable and beef stew were both incredible. The staff was friendly and it came out quickly. A wonderful stop for both food and ice cream!

Such a great little place downtown Herman. We went Saturday for lunch and everything was delicious! The service was great. They even have ice cream for dessert. Highly recommend!!

The double chocolate super malt was fantastic! (Made with custard.) Really fun talking with the staff. They also have hand dipped ice cream, but the custard is really worth trying!

Downtown Deli is I would say my favorite place to eat in Hermann. They always have great food, and exceptional, quick service, very friendly staff, and their Ice Cream is beyond well worth the price, as their Waffle Cones are always stacked ridiculously high, making it a great overall value. Downtown Deli hits 5 stars on service, price, portion sizes, atmosphere, and quality. Definitely worth checking out.

I miss the days they didn’t have the chips as a necessary option with the meals. You used to be able to pick a burger and any of the sides. Personally, I am allergic to the ranch seasoning on the chips, so I cannot have them. I wish the burger would be a little cheaper because I never get the chips. I got so excited hearing the lady who took our order say we could switch out our side…. But it ended up being the full price of a new side. It’s silly to not allow trade outs without getting the full price of the new side. Please change it. This place was my favorite place to go.
