Great bar service! Friendly staff. Good whiskey. What more could a girl want?

There were 6 of us for dinner and we had a great time. Although they were out of 4 or more items, extremely busy day before us, the food we ended us with was great. The best part was the Smokey the Pear cocktail - truly unique and nothing like I've ever tasted. Will go back just for this drink!

This is a hidden Gem in Hermann MO. Go here, do a tasting. Locally sourced corn, Rye, Missouri white oak barrels and more. This could be the start of a new Boubon Trail in the Midwest. Their straight Bourbon is delicious, nice finish, light spice, smooth, and a little vanilla. The Straight Rye, higher note on the finish, light, unencumbered. But their French Oak finish is absolutely stellar. You will buy a bottle. Stop in and see them.

My husband and I had dinner and cocktails last night at Fernweh, and oh my gosh was it good! My husband just had the mushroom Swiss burger and fries and I had the Southwest power bowl with salmon! He said his food was really good and my power bowl was amazing!! I ordered my drink with Tito’s but was told they didn’t have Tito’s but had their own vodka, Stardust Vodka. I decided to try it was so happy I did! We will definitely be back!

Nothing was bad, but for a slow day the service was slow, a few drinks were never delivered and the price of cocktails didnt match the size of the huge ice cube... with that being said, the drinks were very delicious and the food was pretty good.

The food and service was pretty good. Until my bill. I don't understand my wife likes fries with ketchup. I like mine German style, with mayonnaise. So I get charged .50 cents for a 1/4 filled container ,not even full. Why?

Nice atmosphere, but the service was weak. The breading on my Wiener Schnitzel fell off immediately (very bad sign) and the Red Cabbage was bland and watery. Did not have a bottle of the better local red wine in stock. Pretty bad experience all of the way around. The weekend in Hermann (Oktoberfest 2025) was dissapointing all of the way around when it came to food and service.

Ate here for dinner. Good food and an excellent Old Fashioned. Sat out on the patio with a view of the river. Great spot!

Just got in town early and went there for Brunch. Very quiet and peaceful, probably due to everyone being in church. Great atmosphere, great food, and the Bartender Chris had a great sense of humor and great service. Would recommend to anyone that visits here. Right next to the local shoppes and parking not a problem.

We went here Friday evening. We waited 45 min to be seated. The drinks were so strong and bitter tasting that they couldn't be enjoyed. We ordered the chicken sandwich which was ok and the shrimp tacos which were dry and didn't have the sauce as stated on the menu. Additionally we waited another 45 minutes for our food. Pablo, the waiter was awesome! IMO this was way overpriced and the wait was ridiculous. Find another option

If I could give zero stars I would. My friend and I ordered the exact same thing and they came out on different bread. Hers on a bun, mine on toasted bread. She ordered hers no mushrooms or onion and I just got mine no mushroom. They both came out without either and afterwards they told me they can’t separate the mushrooms and onions. That would’ve been fine if they had told me beforehand. I asked about the bread and she just shrugged.

The drinks we got were so bad on top of all of that. The espresso martinis looked like watered down Coke with no foam or anything on top. When we asked about it the waiter said he just took too long to bring the drinks to us and the foam dissolved (what kind of answer is that??)….the mules weren’t served in a copper cup which is kind of a requirement for a mule, the menu even stated they would be served in a copper cup. That’s not normally a hill I would die on but on top of everything else it added to a terrible experience.

This whole thing was such an odd, bad experience. Don’t go here when you can go literally anywhere else.

We were excited to try Fernweh Distilling Co. for dinner on our first night in Hermann—starving and ready to relax. Unfortunately, this place delivered nothing but confusion, rude service, and a total lack of accountability.

We were told we couldn’t wait at the bar because the bartenders “couldn’t keep up with making drinks.” Odd, but we were understanding—until we waited almost double the quoted time, only to be seated in a nearly empty restaurant. What exactly were we waiting on?

The majority of the staff—from check-in to kitchen to server—were consistently rude and dismissive. The only ones showing kindness were the children (yes, children, maybe 12–14 years old) who were bussing tables. That alone raises major legal and ethical concerns.

Our drinks were poorly made, our food orders were all wrong (even the same orders came out differently), and staff offered zero accountability. One even played loud, expletive-filled rap music from their phone—right in the middle of the dining room. Completely unprofessional.

To top it off, when it came time to pay, we were surprised with a 22% gratuity—automatically applied to our group of 7, despite each of us having separate checks. No warning, no heads-up, just tacked on at the end.

We came to Hermann for good vibes and good food. Fernweh Distilling Co. gave us neither. From mismanagement to questionable staffing choices, this place was a mess. Save yourself the headache and choose literally anywhere else in town. Anywhere at all but there.
