Ordering on their website online, like summer sausages etc, their charges are ridiculous for $18.99 shipping and $5 handling fee, they will never sell anything by doing this. I would have continue ordering every now and then but nope !

Very disappointed with their customer service.

I’m a retired veteran and I like sausages. Knowing this, my son bought me a $100 gift card to use at Hermann Wurst. When I attempted to use it, I was told I cannot use their gift cards on-line! Unfortunately, I live over 900 miles away from their location so I doubt I will ever be able to use this gift card at their location.

To address this, I called the store and spoke with an individual. It was Saturday and she said someone would call me back in a couple of business days. That was a month ago and have not heard back.

I tried calling again during the week and the phone just kept ringing.

I went to their website and submitted my concerns on-line. I received an automated e-mail on 4 Dec saying: “ Thank you for contacting us. We will respond to your request in the next 24-48 hours. If you have an immediate question please call us at 573-486-2266.”

Needless to say, I have not heard back, and have had no luck calling.

It may be great to have a good product, but what does it matter if the company doesn’t go the extra mile with customer service?

Very, very, disappointed in their customer service.

First off when you walk inside the smell is amazing! The food is absolutely wonderful and it’s clear why they have won so many awards. From their bratwurst to their side dishes the food was amazing. They also have many different packaged goods (snack sticks, bacon, summer sausage etc.). I highly recommend stopping in.

Had the turkey & swiss sandwich with coleslaw and deviled egg potato salad. Picture of my review, as I rate the food by what I eat and not "presentation". It's worth the stop if you are in the local area. Have to say that dam coleslaw took me back many years to the days my grandma made it!

I'm typing this as my son keeps running back and forth to the bathroom vomiting. He's been throwing up for an hour and my husband has been sick ever since we ate there. My husband ordered a ribeye sandwich which consisted of a plain slab of meat completely soaked in steak sauce slapped on a bun. Very plain with basically no effort from the kitchen staff. I had the caramelized pear and Gorgonzola bratwurst which was fine, just not my cup of tea. My two kids had the hotdog kids meal which was okay. The sides having to be bought separate for $5 for a tiny little serving is a bit ridiculous. The smoked Gouda pasta salad didn't taste smoked at all and was very similar to a boxed pasta salad. We paid $60 for 2 adults and 2 kids. The MAIN issue is their completely unsanitary distribution of samples. They just have multiple open containers sitting inside their coolers on top of products so people have to pick them up and move them if they want certain things. There are toothpicks in a dispenser but they were all scattered on the top of the cooler. Against my better judgement, we tried them. Some were definitely bad from the moment we tasted them and had to wash it down. There's got to be a better way. The only one that didn't end up sick was my daughter that declined to have a sample. On top of that, they shut the lights off and put up all the chairs right after 3 when we (and several others) had only made it halfway through our meal. And judging by other reviews, this happens every day and hasn't changed in the years that people have been complaining about it. It's very disappointing to only have 3 brat flavors offered as well. Had we been able to try some of the other many flavors we might have bought some to bring home. After what we had though, we will definitely be going to Swiss instead. Honestly kind of feel robbed of our entire weekend. With everyone sick, we had to cancel holiday plans and my son will likely have to miss school tomorrow as well. Really disappointing for an award winning meat place.

Edit to add: An apology for the fact that my family ended up sick would have been nice. This wasn't a little upset stomach. My six year old was violently vomiting for hours. One of the samples tasted straight up rotten when we ate it. It's evident from the many prideful responses to others' reviews that the owner cares more about his ego than actually fixing a problem. And just like that, we won't go to Swiss either. Having "award winning" meats does not make up for lack of professionalism, compassion, integrity, or responsibility. And if the USDA approves of the serving of the samples, they need to review themselves.

Great products, but buy in-store where you can inspect quality and choose products yourself, order online at your own risk. Bought in-store when visiting the area for the first time and discovered great items. Online ordered my second round and won't do that again. Sub par products received (packaging issues lead to items being non-consumable), emailed to see if replacement was available, stated they would ship. Never did. Emailed again and never responded. Disappointed because I really enjoyed their product, but for the price, I won't run the risk again.

No Schnitzel, no sauerbraten, etc, seriously? This place is no more German than Applebee’s.

Clara Suntinger

steer clear bc they have a gnat problem.
and their smoker lets out into the dining hall.
and I know German food isn't the pinnacle of spice, but the food was bland (schnitzel, Gouda pasta salad, pulled pork sandwich, potato salad).

Edit: that's dumb. Funneling smoke inside a building is dumb. That causes carbon monoxide poisoning?

We each got the Brat for lunch. It was very good on a pretzel bun with brown mustard and kraut.

The baked beans and bacon cheddar potato brats were really good. The service was good as I let them know the rib special I got was cold. They offered to heat it up for me, which would have been fine, but brought me a new plate instead. The meat was warm in some spots, but not all the way through. Unsure what was wrong, but was not very tasty at all.

Nice, informative greeter. grab a me u order and pay at the counter and have food delivered to your table. Food was disappointing. Brats were flavorless and not hot with thick skin. ribeye sandwich was a dry slice of beef, brisket was dry. pretzel buns were better than expected and service was fast.
