Well I can’t say enough bad things about Hermanhof. The wine tasting lady was a complete nut case, not only bashing the winery she works for, but just about every other business in Herman, MO. At one point she told us about the grapes covered in bird droppings, and implied that one of their wines didn’t taste good because of this. She was also extremely unfriendly and unprofessional and a poor representation of the winery. I would skip this place on your visit to Herman and go up to Stone Hill or one of the other great places in Herman!
So fun! We did a tasting here and we wished we would've gotten food here as well because it smelled SO good. would definitely go back! Mark on your list that they have a little cafe with quite a bit of food because of the places we visited there wasn't a ton of food options if you didn't brings snacks
I paid $28.00 for a bottle of 2023 Hermanhoff Norton and it tastes like rotten red wine vinegar. I would give it a zero rating if I could.
Wine was good, views were great! Nice gift shop.
Great place for both its history (was once a brewery before Prohibition) and now makes some of the best wine I've had. They offer samples to find what suits your taste. We went downstairs in the wine cellar where it's stored and even that was impressive. They also have outdoor tables in back where live music is performed on weekends.
Still smiling thinking about our stop at Hermannhof Winery 🥂 Justin, Georgie & Christie made us feel so welcome, and the wine + views were perfection. A Hermann must-visit! 🍇💛 #GirlsTrip
Our girls’ trip to Hermann wouldn’t have been complete without Hermannhof Winery — and wow, they set the tone for an unforgettable weekend. Justin welcomed us with warmth and genuine hospitality, making us feel like instant friends. Georgie and Christie made sure every detail was perfect, and their thoughtfulness did not go unnoticed. From the charming setting to the gorgeous spread of local flavors, every moment felt curated with care. This is more than a winery — it’s an experience where history, craftsmanship, and heart come together. I left feeling grateful, inspired, and already planning my return.
We've been visiting Hermann for years. No stop is complete without going to Hermanhoff Winery. Great selection of wines and the tastings are great (be sure to add a sample of their port!). If she's there, be sure to request that Stephanie leads your tasting. Also, head down to the cellar for a quick self-guided tour.
Hermannhoff Winery is… fine. It’s pretty, it’s popular, it’s got the name recognition — but if you’re expecting this to be your grand finale winery stop, you might want to rethink. Or pre-eat. Or maybe bring a granola bar.
Let’s address the actual crime first: $16 for two pretzel sticks. Not a typo. Not a sharing plate. Just… two lone, little bread rods and a cup of cheese. I genuinely thought it came with a back massage or at least the chef’s autograph. It did not.
Drinks? Good, but easily the most expensive of any winery we hit that day. You’ll be sipping slowly not because you’re savoring it, but because your debit card is still trembling.
The space itself is nice, sure. But if you end here hungry and tipsy, you’re either walking home with a $50 snack bill or crying into your overpriced plastic cup of cabernet.
Rude staff. Wife was told “only the Unsophisticated pallet like sweet wine”. The attitude is what made us leave.

What a fantastic staff!! Great gifts, fun items to buy, wine tasting was amazing, and our Sommelier was 100% spot on in everything!! We'll be back to visit Hermannof because of her.
We had a great conversation with the groundskeeper also, about native plants. An amazing visit!
The wine was great, too great.
Very enjoyable wine offered, and fair pricing overall.
Very nice tasting room. Enjoyed all of the 12 wines we tried. Also had a delicious sandwich from the attached deli.
A group of us went to Hermann, MO for a wine tasting experience. We visited seven different places, and they could not have been more different. At some places we were the only ones. But the workers appeared to feel we were an intrusion instead of a customer. Other places were crowded, and the tasting was rushed. But at Hermannhof, it was busy, but we were treated as if we were the only ones there. Our server, I think his name was Mark or Mike, spent quality time with us and answered all our questions. He gave suggestions on pairing wines with different foods and took time to get to know each of our preferences. This is one place I will definitely return to.
