Would put zero stars if I could. Really unethical business practice by OakGlenn just now. Today 10/2/2024 charged everyone in our party $10 to come in after they already knew the live band canceled. We spoke to employees and they would not give us refund or give us the name of any of the owners or management and said they were not allowed to give the names of management but they even knew it was wrong. Will not go back as there are plenty of other amazing wineries in the area with live bands not taking advantage of customers with a cover for no reason.

$10 Cover Charge for no entertainment and no wine tasting on Saturday... We looked at the view for our $20 and left.

Today I came across a unique and moving experience while visiting this location. I saw a memorial for a Marine who was killed in Ramadi Iraq in 2005. I too was also there for a year at the same time. I’m glad they will never forget him.

What happened to this place? We were turned away because we didn’t have $50 cash for cover. No way to pay or get cash. They guys at the gates were jerks. Five women, we would have spent a lot on wine! They wouldn’t even let us go to the atm at the winery. Won’t be going back. Which is sad because I come here every year…

Gave it 2-stars for the view. The rest is absolute trash. Sam’s Club food. Wine that the locals make fun of. So…n this desperate hour you turn to beer and booze…crap selection of both. Well drinks and Busch or Bud basics. Then, to add insult to injury, if you came by Uber or trolley, you’re stuck for hours on end swilling rot gut liquor and cheap processed meat products. Well, at least the plumber and housekeepers stay in business cleaning up your mess.

But, there is the view, lol

My friends and I had a terrible experience at Oak Glenn this past weekend - several of us were repeat customers who now have no intention to return after how we were treated. Sorry in advance for this absolute novel of a review - the TLDR is that the owner treated us horribly and stole our property, and there are several other reviews documenting similar behavior that I wish we had seen prior to visiting. If you’re looking for a winery to visit in the area, we had great experiences at Stone Hill, Adam Puchta, and Hermanhoff.I want to preface this by saying that I have debated on whether or not to post about my experience because I truly do not want my negative feedback to reflect on the hardworking staff members - I’ve worked several customer service jobs in the past and completely understand that misunderstandings happen, and during this visit (and all of our previous ones) we have had nothing but positive experiences with the staff. Our frustrations lie solely with how the owner chose to conduct herself during what was clearly a misunderstanding. We were winery hopping in Hermann when we lost track of time and showed up to Oak Glenn a few minutes after they closed the bar - there were a few parties still sitting outside in the gazebo area, so we decided ask the staff if we could do the same even though we had just arrived. Before our party even left our car, my boyfriend went to the bar to ask for permission - he said that he initially approached an older lady who did not acknowledge him, but he didn’t think much of this and he approached a staff member who was closing up behind the bar instead. He said that we had just arrived and asked if we could bring outside wine and food to the gazebo area and hang out for a bit. The staff member told him that there was no problem with this and we were free to hang out until they finished cleaning, so we brought our wine and snacks from the car and settled in at a bench near the gazebo. The bottle of wine that my brother brought was almost empty, so he poured the final glass into his cup and put the empty bottle underneath his jacket (which was laying on the table) to prevent it from rolling off the table or being knocked over. Very soon after this, the same older lady that initially ignored my boyfriend walked over to the table and grabbed an almost-full bottle of wine off of it, and then started angrily rifling through my brother’s jacket to get the empty bottle. Several of us expressed confusion and tried to ask what was going on, but she started yelling that we were disrespecting her as the owner, and that she could lose her liquor license over outside wine being brought onto the premises. We all completely understand this concern and never would have brought the wine onto the property had we known this, but this was an absolutely unacceptable way to handle the situation. Had she simply told us that there was a miscommunication and that we could not have the wine at the gazebo, we would have immediately put the wine back into our car and come back another day. Instead, she thought it was appropriate to rifle through our personal belongings and steal our property.I have also included a photo of a coozie that one of my friends purchased during a previous visit here. She said that she asked the bartender at the time if they sold coozies, and the bartender said that they were $10. She paid $20 for two of them, and the bartender took out a gold sharpie and wrote the name of the winery on two blank coozies right in front of her. Needless to say, this is a complete rip-off and not worth your money.

We always end our winery trips here. Gorgeous views to end the evening with.

Nice winery. One of the only wineries in Missouri with muscadine wines. I would love it if there was a dry muscadine.

Went there for a car cruise, 12$ for a shot of Fireball???? The view isn't worth the outrageous prices!!!!!

Beautiful! If you like sweet wines. They have several good choices. Plenty of others too.

A beautiful place to visit.

They had $10 cover charge and only took cash .....lost business. Other wineries took cards. The men taking cash was also a j*** about not having cash..."get back on the bus"

Great views, but the rest is mid. No tastings on Saturday mean you’re gambling on whether you like the $30 bottle of wine you have to pay $10 to step off the trolley for. More interested in collecting money than serving customers wine.

Fabulous view, great wine, and delightful staff. We visited on a Sunday and there was only one other couple. The property is expansive! If you plan on visiting on a Saturday, there are no tastings- only glasses served due to the shear volume of guests.

I've been here a handful of times, and unfortunately it's still my least favorite winery. The wine itself is very sub par compared to the other wineries in Hermann. The owner was rude and really the reason why I'd never go back. Instead of being professional she chose to handle a situation like a bully and treat paying customers with no respect at all. Plus, no Saturday tastings? Everywhere else does tastings, except this place. This place is not special, but they do believe they are.The views are amazing, but I won't be back. It would be nice if one of the other better wineries could move in here. Then the place would be insane I'm sure of it. There's a reason the trolley stops here last.
