Had a half a beef done sloppy butchering. Roasts aren’t trimmed at all. Hamburger was not ground properly waxy with huge chunks of fat and gristle in it. They did right and replaced the burger with new burger. All though it’s not waxy it’s still full of unchewable pieces. Takes away your appetite when you chomp down on something hard and chewy. Done never using them again. Throwing rest of hamburger away because it is disgusting

We accidentally found this place and ended up going back before leaving the area to take more home. Loved the free samples and have enjoyed everything we brought home to try. Can’t wait to go back someday.

Love this place. Been coming here for many years. Placed a geocache out front (no longer there). Went there for the total solar eclipse a number of years ago. Great brats and bacon. Yum!

On Friday July 26th. A friend and I stopped for lunch, and we must have been invisible. We couldn't get the lady at the lunch counter to take our order. I say lady only to be polite. We traveled on to Herman.

0 stars! We bought half of a beef from our friend Jordan, who is a farmer and raised much beef. We thought Swiss would do a good job due to ratings and they do have good brats. The calf was fed out to 1235 lbs. See pics. We did NOT receive all of the beef we should have. 225 lbs. total from half of a 1235 lb calf! And we didn't get some of the cuts requested. Jordan and his young daughter raised this beef together. He is teaching her how to become a farmer. She didn't even get to enjoy her beef. The tag numbers were totally different, which means we didn't even get the right calf!! The steaks are so small. Most were half or less than half the size you'd buy at the grocery store. Most "fillets" were golf ball sized. We weighed our total side and got right at 225 lbs. I got more out of my hog from another butcher. We received the call on 7/23/24 to pick up our side. My husband said that I would be in to pick it up around 3 p.m. the same day. They said we needed boxes. We told them that we didn't have any. She said they would provide them this time. We had previously had a cut list, which included fillets, ribeyes, flat irons, roasts, briskette, etc. It is impossible for a calf this large to produce steaks this small, and such a low quantity. See pics. When I arrived, I was NOT met with friendliness. I had to repeat my husband's name 3 times and spelled it on the fourth. Then she called another lady over to help. They found my info and said it wasn't ready and that I should have called ahead of time. I was told twice while standing there it wasn't ready. Um, they called us the same morning!! She finally rang my beef up and told me I needed to park on the side. After I parked, I waited for the lady to bring the meat out. When she did, it wasn't in boxes, just in their cartons. The lady got mad when I told her I didn't have boxes. I apologized and said that we told the lady about this when she called this morning. She stomped off. She came back with 2 boxes. One bigger, one smaller. The bigger box held ALL of the meat except the burger. We needed another box, and she grabbed one the same size as the small one. Three boxes total, NOT large boxes, by no means. I didn't even have to put the seat down in my little bug Jeep because there was so little, though, I already had it down. I absolutely cannot believe we were shorted, didn't get the right beef, and treated poorly. This place deserves honest reviews about their processing, and not just "yummy, they have good brats. The honest review is that we, Jordan, and his daughter were truly ripped off. I'd take my beef elsewhere!

I have had great luck from my local butcher. With Swiss, not so much. We took a 1235 pound beef to have butchered. My last kill was 1000 lbs and got more steaks that were bigger and wider off of it than I did off of our 1235 LB calf that was longer and wider than our 1000 LB calf. Our beef is consistent to be 60-65% carcass weight. This one came back at 58%. The steaks were tiny and got way less than what we normally get from our local butcher shops. We kill multiple beef in a year through other processors and have never been shorted like this. My calf's tag number was Orange 42 and the calf that was on my cut sheet was #60. That's not my calf. We did not get our beef back and Swiss had no concern to make it right. 0 out 5 rating as far as butcher process. Could have been a simple mistake on putting the incorrect tag on the killed beef. They could not locate Orange 42 on any other cut chart. Our beef had to have been switched out with someone else. Their smoked meats that they sell in house are good and their lunch was good. I would recommend to take your animal somewhere else to have it butchered. Not cool folks. We wanted to give you a chance because your smoked meats are awesome. I hate to leave a bad review on anyone's page but when you will not pull camera footage to see if something was switched by mistake, then that is suspicious and shady as it can be. I hope whoever got our beef enjoys it because I know the quality of animal that I raise would have no issues getting scored as USDA Prime. The beef that I received is kill cow quality. NOT COOL FOLKS! Reputation is pretty important to make a quality business.

We have been using Swiss Meats for our USDA private label butchering for many years now and have been very pleased with both their capabilities and customer service.
