Almost didn’t come after being scared off by reviews! Came in after talking with locals and hearing otherwise. Our food was awesome. I got the smoked brat and my boyfriend got the brisket grilled cheese. It’s a bit pricier than other places in town, but it is really yummy!

Our visit started off a little rough. I am a pre planner so I already knew what I wanted before we even walked through the door, but was told quickly they were out :( we ordered spinach artichoke dip which comes with toasted garlic bread and was delicious but that’s where the good food stopped :( My husband got the prime rib which comes with Au Jus. The Au Jus had a weird taste to it and the prime rib was over cooked. I ended up ordered Spatzel which had lobster pieces in it and made with a bechamel. It was not good at all. Also had a weird taste to
It. We probably won’t be back for anything other than the spin dip…

This restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. After a full day of tasting wine, we were already a bit full, but this food was good. For dinner, we tried a flight of beers. The house salad was full of Brussels sprouts but had good flavor. The Rouladen was very good with the red cabbage and potatoes. I could have used a little more beef gravy, as the veal was a little dry, but still tender.

Ask Thor to make you the best old fashioned you’ve ever had. He will, I promise.
It was OK at best. Over priced for the food that we received. Inside the restaurant was rustic and cool.

Lovely place and fantastic people.
Food was 'ok' and we weren't expecting anything more than that--- however I ordered a salad. Not long after (about an hour) eating said salad I was *completely* nauseous. I've had PI-IBS since that night over a week ago.
Please make sure there are safeguards for the salads.

Sorry to say but overpriced. My son had the dry rubbed wings. Very messy and hard to eat. I would not recommend. Had a party of 5 and felt like we were an inconvenience. Got sat in a large room off to right of main room by ourselves. Food was just not that good for price. I did not care for the spinach artichoke dip. We all split the ticket. My bill with two apps, a French dip, a water and a soda was $70. Would not return.

Disappointed in the rouladen. Very tough and no filling.

Had a wonderful dinner in a cozy atmosphere. Had the salmon on butternut squash puree and I had to stop myself from licking the plate. My husband had the chicken pot pie. He loved the flaky crust. He had a good dark beer and I had a glass of the White lady. The server was very sweet and attentive. We will be back next time we are in town.
Food was expensive and miserable
The fries were awful, coated in a weird batter or something. Steak frites were dry and I got maybe a teaspoon of the sauce, and had to ask for more. We spent near to $100 on Burger and fries, steak frites and an overcooked pretzel that was rock hard. Expected better.

We went in on a Friday, made a reservation and was promptly seated after checking in. Alec was our server and he did a wonderful job of taking care of our group. I loved the atmosphere and how they turned it into a restaurant. Very neat to see the structure of it. It was a little drafty where we were seated but it’s also an old building and middle of November. I wish there would have been some light music but our drinks were very yummy! I got the tin mule and loved it. The spinach artichoke dip was delicious! As well as the crab cakes for appetizers. I did the steak frites and wasn’t a fan of the sauce on them but the steak was so tender. This was our first stop of many in Herman and we had such a great time visiting the town.
