The food was okay but the service was appalling. You can see from my other reviews, I tend to rate places highly and not hold places to an unreasonable standard. However this restaurant was disappointing on several fronts. First, despite having made a booking 2 weeks in advance, the greeter didn't seem to be able to find our reservation. Despite there being empty tables/booths in the main dining room (both on our arrival and departure) we were seated at a rather undesirable table in what was clearly a nondescript overflow room that otherwise had a very large group and a couple of families with small children. The service was terrible. We watched as a different server from ours (who seemed to be responsible for the other tables in our room) provided very good service. We, on the other hand, were largely ignored until I complained to who seemed to be the manager. Things didn't get much better. Waited a long time for drinks and while still eating our mains, we were asked twice if we wanted desert. We ultimately declined and then the cheque was immediately delivered while we were still finishing our meal and about half way through our drinks. Certainly will not be returning nor recommending.
Great food and service!!

We came here on Monday night for a birthday with reservations for 6:30. The noise level is horrendous. The main dining room is all exposed brick and large windows. Every conversation reverberates. Our waitress was inattentive and we were unable to even order a glass of wine. So we walked out and went to V’s and enjoyed their date night special. Salvaged the occcasion.

Food delicious. Nice atmosphere. Be sure to ask for the table you want. Initially we were in a dark booth across from the water station. We asked to move by the window and the waitress was very apologetic and didn't hesitate to move us.

This place was a great time, food was excellent and atmosphere was top shelf! It's a little pricey ($12 1/2 glass of wine, $20+ for all entrees, & $13+ for appetizers), but the food was really good 👍. I would specifically ask for the upstairs seating and make a reservation, to make sure. It kinda overlooks Independence Square, and is cozy, away from the busy downstairs. Took my wife & son for her birthday. Great times! 😁👍✌🏻

I would not recommend this restaurant for events. We had our rehearsal dinner planned months in advance and already paid. Three weeks before the rehearsal dinner they canceled our reservation and said there was nothing they could do about it. They caused a lot of stress. Very disappointed.

Classic Italian restaurant with an attentive wait staff. Our party of 4 ordered different entrees and every selection was perfection.

This is a gem of a restaurant in downtown independence. Took an out of town guest here for a late dinner and we had very prompt and friendly service. Very nicely decorated, especially the artwork on the walls, and there's a beautiful patio area for outdoors dining. They allow pets on leashes in the patio dining area.
I thought the calamari was decent, but the chicken spinach pecan salad was excellent.

I went to cafe Verona for my birthday dinner. I called earlier in the week to make a reservation for 15. They had the perfect set up. They have bar seating, booths, then an upstairs for larger parties.
The food was 12/10. I got the caprese salad and the chicken speidini both were the weekend specials. My biggest complaint is this is not on the permanent menu. It was the best pasta I’ve had in a LONG time. I would mark it as the second best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to.
The drink were also 10/10 I got the lemonchello spritz and a mule with amaretto.
We had an awesome meal that came out pricier than expected. I’m happy to pay good money for good food, just something I wish I had mentally prepared for more.
The parking was easy there is street parking then a lot right next to the building as well. I love the square as you can walk everywhere. Go shopping or hit up some of the bars.
I cannot wait to come back and try another meal. Everyone in my party enjoyed what they got and had clean plates!

The food was alright, it wasn't spectacular as hoped. The pesto primavera with Italian sausage was alright, and so was the goat cheese frittata. However, the BMT sandwich and the fries were delicious. The bruschetta was sweeter than expected. On the bright side, it had a Tuscan feel to it both inside and outside.
