My husband and I decided to stop for an early dinner at Cafe Verona after touring the Truman Presidential Library and had the most fantastic meal. The restaurant is beautiful, clean, and lined with amazing art. The staff and our waitress were friendly. The highlight was the food. Ever since moving to the Midwest, I felt that the Italian cuisine options were pretty abysmal; however, Cafe Verona’s plates were divine. Everything from the hummus, to the Cesar salad, to the pasta, to the tiramisu was absolutely perfect. Plus, for everything we got, the bill was surprisingly fair - we spent far less than expected, I HIGHLY recommend stopping in.

The artichoke dip is to die for it’s one of the best I’ve had. Would definitely recommend getting it! 10/10. For dinner I would recommend their Carbonaro fettuccine it’s Devine. 10/10 as well!I don’t recommend getting the lasagna it wasn’t very good.One thing that turned us off being there was our server wasn’t very good. We all always had a flag him down. He never checked on us and it was just really frustrating and annoying. We had to ask to get our drinks refilled and get new drinks and stuff and he was just very slow and just not efficient. That was the only problem that that we had being there other than that the food was pretty good.

Such a gem off the square in Independence! The spinach artichoke dip is decadent and could be a meal on its own. I love that they have a keto menu featuring zoodles for those desiring to keep things balanced and lighter. Good wine selection too! The atmosphere is great for any occasion, especially date night.
The food is delicious. We have tried their veg dishes only but the marinara is some of the best i have had so adding it to any pasta makes a delicious dish . I had the gnocchi last night and they were to die for. We also had the artichoke appetizer with pesto made from scratch in the kitchen with no renet and it was amazing . The service is good . Ambience is ok . Really wish they would upgrade the colors or something - it's a little depressing in the dining room . The bar area is more fun and can't wait to sit on the patio . Overall a must try

We had a family Christmas dinner for 22 over the holidays at Cafe Verona. The food was excellent, and the service was impeccable. Our incredible server, Andy, was attentive to the needs of the adults, teens, and children at all times! He truly made the special evening a success! Everything was set up early, including items for the children, to keep their attention and maximize the time together as a family. All of the dishes were outstanding, and my personal favorite was the mushroom lover's pasta and the lasagna (for my husband). The appetizers of house made hummus, garlic bread, and calamari were also enjoyed by all!
If you have not tried Cafe Verona, give it a whirl. You will not regret the decision. Also, take a stroll around the beautiful historic Independence Square and enjoy the scenery, history, and wonderful shops.
