If I could give this company zero stars I would !! My daughter paid $200 for a cake and we were so excited thinking for $200 it was going to be fabulous! First the cake did not look like the picture, it had no gold and it was not dusty rose and it was not blended in like the other picture! We were still hopeful that it would taste amazing so we didn’t say anything. When we cut the cake and started handing it out, I noticed people were taking a bite and throwing it away or telling people that had not gotten theirs yet that they could have theirs. I couldn’t imagine what was wrong until I had a piece! It was literally not edible! The icing tasted like straight stale butter and the cake part was so grainy! I just wanted you all to be aware because if you have an important event you might want to choose someone who has an idea of how to make a cake! He did not offer a partial refund he pretty much didn’t care that my daughter paid him $200 for something that was not edible!! We could have literally went anywhere and got a better cake than this was, and his lack of care or concern spoke volumes about his business practices!! We are not the kind of people who want something for free but the cake should have been edible even if it didn’t look the way we wanted it to! We wouldn’t have said a word if it would have been half way edible but when I tell you it was not edible that’s not an exaggeration! It really was not edible! Even the kids at the party wouldn’t eat it and kids eat anything sweet! Beware if your thinking about using this company! I don’t want him to do to someone else’s, what he did to my daughter! We are just sick that he did this to her!! $200 wasted, that’s a lot of money!!

I chose Cake Ref bakery for my one year olds daughter birthday cake, it was a pleasurable experience until the cake arrived it was cute not exactly what I thought I would be getting but still cute. When we went to cut the cake and eat it non of my guest or family could eat the cake. It was not edible the buttercream icing tasted like stale old butter nothing more nothing less just butter. The cake was dry and gritty. We unfortunately had to just toss the cake it was that bad. Upon reaching out to Cake Ref and asking for a partial refund because I respect small business and respect the fact they put time and effort to the cake they denied my request for a refund.
Mind you I paid 200 dollars for this cake and it was a complete waste of our hard earned money. And to not be offered some type of compensation for a cake we couldn’t eat really and truly is just morally wrong.

We loved our macaron tower from CakeRef Bakery for our wedding! Joseph did a fantastic job throughout the whole process with communication and ensured we got everything we wanted. He matched our dusty blue wedding color perfectly! He took the time and care to deliver and set up the tower at the venue. It was one less thing I had to worry about on such a busy day. I have no complaints about working with him and plan to continue to treat myself to some macarons in the future!

I coordinated a wedding this past weekend and the order included cup cakes and a small personal wedding cake for the wedding. Lemon, Vanilla, and Chocolate were ordered. When the order was delivered, it was obvious that the cupcake cups were not filled adequately (less than 1/3 full). Since they were not filled, of course, they were overcooked and had the consistency of dry cornbread. The cake was awful! Something went horribly wrong with the batter! And the lemon was the bride's favorite flavor, and she ordered a 6 inch, 2 layer round in the same flavor for the anniversary cake, and it too, was made with that same bad batter! The cake ruined the wedding day and would've ruined a 1 year anniversary, and the Cake Ref hasn't offered a refund. Hopefully, he can redeem himself and make it right!!

I ordered some of his signature Macaroons on the recommendation of a friend who purchased some before. We got a full assortment and, without a doubt, everything was absolutely delicious! The owner was kind and friendly with us and helped to walk us through his selection. We will definitely be back for more. As a bonus, we ordered a couple of his holiday specials, the egg nog santa and candy cane mint; they were phenomenal. It's definitely apparent that he puts everything into his craft.
