Decided to try Carmens and was very impressed with the whole experience. Food was excellent and the different selections on menu were a great touch for when you've had enough of the regular food, these choices are very interesting. All waitresses were very nice and busy and the atmosphere isnt too loud but is very family friendly.

It's food. Don't go there if you're expecting anything above so-so. The quantity of food is more appropriate for what should be a serving so if you are looking for leftovers, this isn't the place. The establishment itself is dark, dated, and somewhat run down. We've only been there twice - the 1st time our advance order wasn't made at all but the employees were amazing; the second time we had ½ the orders and it took twice as long and the employees were horrible.

First time here was while at our AirBnB and YUMMY!!! I had the grilled chicken plate and my mom had enchiladas supremas. We also tried Jarritos for the first time, pineapple and mandarin, YUMMY!!
We ate here again before we left and I ordered the same thing and mom had a beef chimichanga. DELICIOUS!! Can't wait to try Lee's Summit as well.

Only dine in here if you want the worst service you can possibly find. I've been shown the same extended wait periods each time I've dined in to even get my drinks or chips ordered, let alone my food and LITTLE to NO service at all each time I went. I suggest hitting the drive thru if you want to eat here.

When ordering ask to make sure they have the item before paying for it. I ordered 2 cheesecakes and paid for them, then they tell me they are out of it. The only dessert they had was tres leches cake . I am not a fan.

I will call this the best Mexican food in eastern Jackson County hands-down get their lava pot. That’s not the real name though big stone pot with beef, chicken, shrimp kicks ass even for one you can take some home feeds too easy.

Great food, service and drinks

The family was in Kansas City for a Volleyball tournament and looking for somewhere to eat that was close to where we were staying and this place fit the bill. The food was amazing probably some of the best Mexican I've had in a while. The staff was fun and friendly. If we're ever back in the area we will for sure be back.

Absolutely the next Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in KC, Mo. absolutely recommend.
